Six night stay in late February
The hotel is in a quiet side street, 10 minutes walk from the town centre and railway/bus station. We had a Superior room which was large, clean and comfortable which is all that was needed although the air con wasn’t great when a bit of warmth was needed. There was some off season decorating going on, not surprising as the walls are white and the wonky tap on the bathroom sink wasn’t going to spoil my holiday. There is a buffet breakfast which was fine if not a tad cake orientated. Sorrento itself is nice enough with a good selection of restaurants and bars (no bar at hotel which was not a bad thing). The main attraction is that it’s a great base for visiting Naples, Pompei, Herculaneum and the beautiful Amalfi Coast. We used public transport which was reasonably priced and reliable - the coast road bus ride to Amalfi and then on to Ravello in the hills is spectacular (all day ticket for €8 is a bargain). Trains leave Sorrento every 30 minutes toward Naples, the Pompei Scavi station is right by the main gate to the Roman site and Ercolano Station is an easy 10 minutes walk to Herculaneum. I would recommend a 3 day Artecard ticket that covers trains, metro in Naples and entry to two sites/museums and then discounted entry to others. Overall a great place to go; if it rains the Naples museums and churches are worth a visit, especially the Archaeological museum and Capella Sansevero, the Veiled Christ sculpture there is something to see.

We booked this B&B because it was family run and the superb reviews. We were not disappointed. The location is brilliant, just a slow 10min walk into the main square of Sorrento. The welcome we received was very warm and friendly. Throughout our stay the staff went above and beyond - nothing was too much trouble. The spacious rooms are immaculate and have everything you need. However, the main highlight of our stay was the breakfast - two lovely Italian ladies cook the most amazing array of delicious fresh savoury and sweet selection of food that tastes as it looks and surpasses any breakfast we've ever had when staying in a hotel or B&B. So look no further, this B&B is amazing and we would happily recommend to anyone planning a stay in beautiful Sorrento.

A perfect Sorrento escapism
Wow! Maison Kalea definitely lives up to all the highly rated reviews. It has been the perfect place to stay for a week of exploring Sorrento and some of the stunning coastline, islands and culture and history. Exceptionally clean, modern decor with some beautiful details. Loved the tiles, art work and other home furnishing accessories. The room was equipped with everything needed, safe, mini fridge, great air conditioning, lovely little balcony to relax on before exploring some of the many restaurants Sorrento has to offer. We fell in love with Marina Grande...the sunsets were purely magical. The staff were helpful and informative... Alessandra recommended a couple of wonderful excursions...we would also highly recommend the Capri boat trip for €59 and the Amalfi coast tour with lunch. The breakfast offered a great selection and we loved the large table with the colourful ceramics. Thanks Maison Kalea for a wonderful introduction to Sorrento!

Loved the room; nice and clean bathroom, spacious room and lovely balcony. Nice comfy bed! Only negative thing was that all the noises from the corridoor/breakfast area woke us up a bit too early each morning... We arrived a bit later than the reception is normally open, did email about it and no problems:) and as well we got a call to make sure that everything was ok and we were arriving more or less on time; made us feel that we are really really welcome:) We would definately stay at Maison Kalea again, nice seating area in front of the building to relax and enjoy local wines (supermarket 40m) & warm evenings. Location is brilliant; 5min from the train/bus station and as well the alleys of old town. Breakfast is simple and nice; sweet and savory, coffee&juice, fruits&yoghurt... all the basics you need to start your day :) And! Bonus! Every member of the staff meet us with a big smile and made us feel very welcome:) So thank you; even though it rained more or less every day, we couldn't have chosen any better place to stay:)

Lovely choice!
We stayed at Maison Kalea during our two week trip around Italy. Francesca was very welcoming and helpful during our time in Sorrento. The room was spacious and clean; we also had a small balcony which overlooked the shared patio area. It was lovely! The room had its own air conditioning unit, which was nice since it was about 80 degrees during our time there. Also, the breakfast included was tasty (bread, rolls, meats, cheeses, baked goodies, veggies, cereal, coffee/tea, fruit... anything you wanted!) and a great way to start your day.
