Check in is AFTER 3:30 if you book with hotels.com
Check in is AFTER 3:30 if you book with hotels.com. That’s what I was told because I’m not priority. So, per their staff, I had to wait for housekeeping to finish cleaning a room. No problem. Whatever. I finally get a room (before 4pm). Then, after a day of traveling, I was able to get food and sleep. Naturally, I woke up late the next day, and missed housekeeping as it’s now past noon. I opened my door, and saw many housekeeping staff on either side of my view. So when I left, I kindly asked from desk if they can clean my room. The SAME staff member said it’s too late. This was around 1pm. I reminded them that my room wasn’t cleaned till just before 4pm! Anyways.....room was cleaned after I just gave up and decided to stay with friends instead. Other than that, it has potential.

Only for a stop over!!!
This hotel is an okay option for a stop over. I stayed at the hotel for 1 night on my way from Tucson AZ to Los Angeles. I booked it for $80 and I found that deal not really reasonable for the quality I got. The hotel location is near the trendy Hillcrest area which is a short 6 min drive. There are mostly other hotels around, with a liquor store about 50 feet away. The area is not convenient at all and not walkable, because it is located between a hill and a highway. I got a room on the second floor. My room was a basic motel type room, but updated and clean. Its size was big, but at the same time the bathroom was super tiny. The king-size bed was somewhat comfortable. I found it a little hard. I did not like the air conditioner because it was dirty and didn’t want that blowing around the room. Also a big minus for me was the noise insulation. I could clearly hear what was going on outside and in the rooms next to mine. The bathroom amenities were very bad. Wi-Fi was working pretty fast. Free parking is a big plus. I recommend staying at this hotel only for stop over.

My stay at the Atwood
The check-in was smooth, quck and easy. Pierre at the front desk was friendly and courteous. I asked for a quiet room and he was more than accommodating to find me a room in the back corner. My only upside were there were lots of guests that were extremely loud, obnoxious, and oblivious of their etiquette toward other patrons each night during my stay.

Nice one night getaway
I’ve worked at hotels and this place is definitely high on my list. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Pierre the front desk agent was phenomenal; greeted/acknowledged me as soon as I walked in, kind and represented the hotel with flying colors. Will be back next time I’m in San Diego area. I also felt very safe because I saw security walking the property late at night when we checked in. That’s great!

Than you to Front Desk Clerk
I wanted a mainly quiet time and asked for specific room and luckily it was available and it worked out quite nicely. I give a lot of credit to the nice guy that checked me in, for his willingnes to accomodate my request, because he couldve easily said "it wasnt available" and put me where he wanted. I thank him for that and at the end it works for the better and we give a great review!

Semi decent stay
During our stay, the toilet randomly clogged. Kinda inconvenient that they don’t have plungers in the bathroom for guests. Kinda embarrassing to call the front desk for a clogged toilet.

Great hotel

Good 6.0
Good service, housekeeping, room, and convenient location, but during overnight sleeping hours there can too often be drama and noise from knuckleheads and inconsiderate guests. Security is present, but nights can be unpredictable! Last stay included an illegal, or out of state car alarm that was so loud with a high-piercing shrill sound that it woke up everyone because it sounded like an emergency building alarm or earthquake warning.

Nice staff but dirty room.
The front desk staff were great but the room was pretty disappointing. The tiles in the bathroom in room 149 were falling off, the toilet area around the floor was dirty, and black fuzzy mildew was under the bathtub soap dish. Bed was comfy. Towels were stained. Sorry but wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay again.
