The Surfjack was a perfect place for two couples to stay with one exception. Because the hotel was built in the 1960s there are very thin walls between rooms. One night we got to stay up all night with the room next to us blaring TV. The bed is at the wall shared with the TV in the room next to us so we got to hear whatever they watched. Another night was screaming - not sure if it was in ecstasy or fear, either way loud enough to wake us. There is no quiet relaxing place to sit as loud music is playing in the main lobby/pool area ALL day long. The furniture in the rooms seem to be the same 1960s with chipped tables, dressers, etc. On the plus side: great bar, free parking (BIG plus), free use of beach chairs, friendly staff & great MCM vibe. Bring earplugs, order a singapore sling, & relax by the pool. Its a perfect start to a Hawaii vacation.
