Incredibly welcoming
Normally I don't leave good reviews and have got into the habit of only leaving bad feed back if my stay hasn't been that good. This place was so exceptionally good i had to sing my praises about it. Everything about the place, (location, comfort, cleanliness) was brilliant but the real jem was the owners (Graham & Julia). They made such a good effort to make you feel welcome it felt like you were visiting relatives, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Awesome.
Our stay was amazing! The house is architecturally stunning and the views breathtaking. The apartment was incredible and the attention to detail was outstanding. Our hosts, Julia and Graham, thought of everything and the delicious breakfast set us up for the perfect day. Many many thanks. We shall definitely return.

Friendly hosts in an historic house
This was a self contained apartment in a house with two B&B rooms on offer too. Breakfast was served by the hosts in the main house. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and lent bikes to us for a day out. Breakfast was excellent!

Our stay at Matua Lodge was exceptional, and beyond our expectations in every way. Julia and Graham are the most incredible hosts at their stunning and unique home overlooking the water and Mt Maunganui. They made us feel welcome instantly, with a glass of wine on their deck and great suggestions for local activities and dining. Each day the breakfast table was set so beautifully, with an elegant array of homemade muesli, yogurts, croissants, fruit salad, juice and coffee. Graham tried to tempt us with a full cooked breakfast but we were duly impressed with this selection.
