The staff was extremely helpful at both check-in and check-out. They gave us a local map with suggested points of interest, and on check-out, immediately volunteered to call a taxi when we asked about the best place to catch one. And we loved the surrounding area--it has to be one of the most picturesque parts of Lisbon, with plenty of restaurants and shops within a short walk. Will definitely return!

Location is what makes this hotel work for us! But the BEST part of our stay was the great personal service and information from Sofia at check-in and again, from Patricia at breakfast. The rooms are fine, nothing special, with comfortable beds. The walls and doors and stomping around above you make sure you get up in the morning. Breakfast and coffee were Great!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Location was within walking distance to the castle. The only suggestion is to put some kind of odorizer in the room to mask the smell of the bathroom that’s part of an old building.

Staff (Julietta) was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated at a great location but quite a walk. Note that Lisbon is built on 7 hills so expect that you will have to go up and down hills; the location is no different. It's so close to S. Jorge castle (must see). There is a convenient store close by and a nice wine bar that makes amazing appetizers.

The staff was EXCELLENT !!! very helpful, professional, personable, etc.Went the extra mile to help. Room was impeccable. Breakfast was plentiful , but would be nice to change the menu once and a while. Bed was tops !!! One advice as regards the magnetic key. Make sure you have it at all times on you, because there is no staff at the desk after 10pm. There is a phone # to call, but if you don't have a SIM card for the country, or a cell, phone, you are doomed. Excellent location. Would recommend it very highly.

Good location, breakfast okay. Room was very noisy, windows had shutters on them (which you really needed as cable cars just outside your room and large volumes of tuk tuk's and cars passing by), bathroom was very tiny - cruise ship tiny, and the standard room was small. Highly suggest booking a larger room if available. Reception and breakfast staff very helpful and friendly. Again the location was great, and hotel had a small balcony. Would suggest walking to Sao Jorge Castle a few minutes for some serenity, views and great food. Also a trip to Belem by tram or bus to visit the Tower/ monument/waterfront and enjoy Belem pastries. (There is a shop very near the Hotel that sells the Viva Viagem travel pass covering trams, buses, trains and funicular railways (vertical railways dotted around Lisbon) for a specified period of time eg 24 hours from commencement of use - about 7 euros). Nearby squares with amazing views, restaurants, local musicians. Also a short walk up the hill to the Gracia district where you can watch beautiful sunsets from the square and Church.
