The wilderness lodge was an amazing experience. The accommodation itself is worth the drive and the dirt road. The rooms are clean, modern and cosy. The included breakfast was delicious and you had quite the selection to pick from. Whilst the dinner price is steep, the food is delicious and portions are big!!! You will never be left hungry.
Whilst you don’t have to leave the accomodation to see some wildlife, some roam in at night in front of the big glass walls that look out. But, If your willing to go out after dinner and roam around the building you will see Tasmanian devils, wombats, wallabies and even platypuses!!
The staff overall were nice. At times, it was a struggle to try and convince her to let us use the E-bikes when it was slightly windy and overcast. The host at the time was condescending and treated us like children when getting the bikes out and telling us not to leave them, get them wet or she would charge us, despite already signing a contract with all the TC’s. She was at times rude and condescending when we were telling other guests where we went and what we saw. I got the sense she just wanted everyone to stay on and read or go out for a drive.
Other than her (who was the host) at the time of our stay...it was a wonderful experience! But make sure you get out and about and go exploring at night after dinner- it’s incredible what you will find and see 😊!!
