Nice food shame about the accommodation
The bedside lampshade had been in some sort of fight and was badly mangled, there was a hole in the plasterboard above a bed. The bathroom light was so dim that when switched on the room got darker! One could not shave there for fear of a serious laceration!

Nice room and good check in with Mark. Bar was very busy with a long queue at peak times but otherwise a nice stay overall.

Functional, Comfortable with Smoky Undertones
Mine was a late booking for business, working with two colleagues who booked accommodation elsewhere. 'Elsewhere' tuned out to be a curious pub closer to the river that seemed to turn into a 'Taggart'-inspired theme park on a Friday night, so I dodged a bullet there (perhaps literally). The Titan fooled me at first in that the thumbnail picture made it look like an electrical retail warehouse on an industrial estate whereas it's actually a Greene-King pub with a 1930s-style facade and accommodation block on a leafy dual carriageway. Check-in just required me to ring a bell to get someone to come from the pub to give me keys and fill me in on details.. simple. The room was reasonable bar a small hole stuffed into one wall and a faint whiff of fags (perhaps a carpet legacy, perhaps from the bathroom where smokers mistakenly believe the fan will suck out the evidence). Clean, comfortable and with a decent shower. Negatives: corridor lighting is activated by PIR sensors near the main door. Leaving the room, no lighting will come on until you grope your way to this point. Bathroom lighting was of the old fluorescent bulb type; if you want to use the light for anything technical such as applying make-up, shaving or generally seeing, give it a couple of minutes to warm up. On Friday night, there was a teeny disco downstairs, so the accommodation lobby was crawling with 12-going-on-18 types. Actually no problem as it all ended before 23:00hrs - on this occasion.
