Pros and cons
+ Very friendly and helpful front desk staff - We arrived at 8:30 am and the guy at the front desk was super nice and made a real effort to check us in early, despite being full. Also accommodated our late check out requests + Value for money and spacious rooms, especially comfortable for longer stays + Able to accommodate big groups - I had booked 5 apartments for my family + Location is good, at the peripheral of the CBD - easy access to free city tram lines and train, also huge supermarket across the road + On site parking at reasonable rate + Responsive communication via the live chat function on their website - It was thoughtful of them to provide us with earplugs by the bedside, however we found out it is located next to Brown Alley Nightclub which is a 24 hour nightclub with a rooftop bar. We were there on long Labour weekend and the music blaring away from 11pm - 8:30am on a Sunday night - Cleaning only once a week and not thorough (I saw them use the face towels to wipe the floor) - Got an email short of accusing us of dripping candle wax on the carpet and wall, although it was already there when we checked in - Lifts are super slow. 45 floors and only 3 lifts, 1 doesn't work half the time

Decided to stay 4 nights at the property despite the mixed reviews. Pros - conveniently located - food options, supermarket, shopping mall, bus terminal, free tram zone, car rentals - 2 packets of laundry detergent provided which was perfect as you wouldnt want to need to buy detergent on a holiday for 1 load - might stay again if lack of choice Cons - Stayed on the 41st floor at the next building (Australis Apartments) & was very appalled that on a Friday night at 1am, we could hear loud music coming from either the neighbours or I'm not sure where. Could not sleep till the wee hours of the morning when the music finally died down. Ear plugs were provided in the room, but some basic sound proofing would be very necessary. - Knew beforehand no room service will be provided throughout the stay. But, 1 small bottle of shampoo and shower gel provided for 4 nights was pretty funny. Went to the concierge to request for more, but because they dont manage short stay clients, we had to go to the main reception at Short Stay (which closes at 9pm) to get them. Conclusion: request them when you check in. - The towels provided were... unfortunately disgusting. One had BLOOD stains (a big noticeable patch, not just one dot) while another had brown stains. Come on, check your towels cause you dont want to dry your cleanly washed face with stained towels. It's really a turn off. - There were 3 lifts that serve the building and there literally is a queue every time we come back.

A perfect place at a very convenient location
The night crew (who are different from the office staff in this kind of accommodation) usually don't feel obligated to do anything than handing over the keys, but the person who greeted me late at night kindly offered basic instructions, like what information was included in the papers I was given with the keys, how to use the keys, and what I was supposed to do with the office staff in the next morning. Although the office staff sent me some of those information by email before my arrival, it was still helpful to go through verbally face to face. Needless to say, the staff in the office I met in the following morning, were also super friendly. I really appreciate both the office and the concierge people for not only providing me detailed information before/after my arrival and greeting me. The apartment is fantastic; very clean and well equipped. The interior was well designed with plenty of room for storage. It is also well located; easily accessible to/from the airport (one of the main reasons why I decided to stay here, considering the late arrival). One thing I felt lack was the caddy in the shower booth. It made me keep bending to pick up the little shampoo & etc. bottles. Price-wise it seems to be a bit on the high side compared to similar places (based on the pictures posted by the properties), but with special discount through a travel site (expedia in my case), I ended up paying less than the limit I had in mind.

Melbourne short stay
Upon late check-in and entering room discovered that I was basically looking directly into the apartments opposite which were very uncomfortably close. I didn't want to spend my trip with blinds down. Requested move but there were no more one-bedroom suites but was offered change next day to their other building Australis House around the corner. I was preparing for departure next morning when a man walked in without knocking and told me that check-out was at 10 am and it wasn't even 9.40, told him to leave! I was moved but thought it rather unhelpful that my suitcase was left in storage and I had to take it myself around the corner. There is absolutely no service in these apartments: i.e. beds not made, toiletries replaced and doors cannot lock. I only discovered other towels in the wardrobe on my last day. There is a washer/dryer which would be handy for families or longer term stays. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the space the apartment offered but there is a lot of construction going on in the area which starts at 7 am, 6 days a week. The area is not very nice close to Southern Cross Station but helpful for easy access to SkyBus to airport. Personally, I was disappointed with the overall area, service or lack of, and would not stay in these apartments on any future trip to Melbourne.

Peaceful stay
The apartment is very quiet and well maintained. Spacious and good for singles, not sure if it will get noisy with kids. It is within walking distance to all places, and near trams but may be considered a bit far for those who hates walking. I booked the two bedroom apartment with two toilets. The room with double bed is very spacious with a toilet attached to it but the room with two single beds is a bit small. The air conditioning is in the living room, so if you are one who likes to sleep with the door closed, the single bed room will end up stuffy as it is too small. The double bed room is fine and cool. I like the apartment as it is quiet and away from the crowded area. There are eateries within 5-10mins walking distance but I would have preferred one with at least one eatery just downstairs for emergency. It rained on the first day of our arrival and we were not able to get out to buy food till the rain stopped. But having said that, if you choose to stay in an apartment, you would have done some grocery shopping. There is also a 24hour Coles for grocery shopping within 10mins. I would consider this an exclusive area for apartments. Overall, I love the place.
