The room wasn’t clean. Lots of dust under the bed and cabinets. Other services and amenities were pretty basic. WiFi speed was extremely slow.

Clean, comfortable, dated.
Clean, comfortable, very convenient - it's directly opposite Hakodate station - and very cheap, but the rooms and foyer are very dated and the hotel is undeniably worn around the edges. You get what you pay for, and it's excellent value.

As this is a Budget and old hotel, not high expectation but the corridor smells bad. Besides from that the room is alright. The location of the inn is wonderful, if you are taking JR or bus , it is RIGHT opposite the front door of the station. Free parking if you are driving. Walking distance to the popular seafood market (food which only open from 6am -2pm). So it’s a slight problem for dinner.

Did not leave smiling
Unfortunately the room had a really strong cigarette smell even though we were in a non smoking room. The hallway stunk of cigarettes all the time. The bathroom was soo small you hit everything around you and the room is in serious need of upgrade. The only good point was service at reception was good as expected.

Excellent central location. The only short coming was that the internet connection is VERY slow. I would consider staying with them again if I make it to Hakodate in the future.

Was ok, fits a budget
This is an older hotel that fits the budget. The walls and ceiling look to be repainted but the carpet comes up in patches and the hall way has numerous stains. It seems many business travelers and late night drinkers stay here. It is conveniently across the jr station and near the morning market. The bathroom is passable but feels cramped as the same water faucet is used for the sink and the tub. Laundry gets crowded and the dryers aren't very good

average, but fantastic bed
Excellent - comfortable bed, location (in front of the station)
Good - breakfast, reasonable price
Not so good - small bathroom, old buildings. Needs new wall paper or a coat of paint

Across the road from the station... very good hotel for the price. So convenient to arrive and leave town on the train. Central to explore the city.

Good location and good view
Good location but hotel seems run-down. Can see the wear and tear in many areas. The bedsheets may not be cleaned well as we were itching the whole night. Paid for breakfast but it was simple fare. The view from the room showed the JR station and Mount Hakodate. Walking distance to the morning market and the JR Station. Parked the car at the nearby designated space owned by the hotel for a minimal fee but the carpark was not paved (pebbles and stones lined), so if you are rolling your luggage, be prepared for some difficulties and probably damage.
