Great Stay-Resort & Check-In Fees Not Included
After reading reviews on Ala Moana by AirPads I was uneasy about how our stay would be considering the room was being provided by a Third Party (AirPads). I can honestly say that as long as you are aware that this is a privately managed room which will require you to pay upfront fees ($300 for our 10 night stay) you will love your stay at this hotel. Rooms were clean and just as they were described in the booking information, check-in was seamless and the overall feel of the hotel is very relaxed and comfortable. Conveniently located next to Ala Moana Shopping Mall makes for plenty of breakfast or dinner options and there is a Starbucks in the main lobby which serves beer and wine in the evenings. MAID SERVICE IS AN ADDITIONAL FEE $20: Plenty of clean towels are provided when first checking in and as long as you are OK with re-using the same towels a few times during your stay. Therefore, If you aware of the additional fees for check-in and room service this hotel is an excellent deal for anyone looking for a great location in Waikiki, Oahu.

Could have explained the policies and more clear m
There were charges we had to pay that we were unaware of. $50 registration fee at check in. Also a daily pool fee which we knew of but when you don’t use the pool kind of in fate. Also, if we wanted made service or needed anything in the room we had to pay for it and go thru the owner or their maintenance team. Small things but made a difference.

Dishonest.
There were a few "gotchas" in the fine print of this one. The main ones were a $50 "destination fee" per stay, and, in addition, a $25/night "resort fee". These were not optional, but Hotels.com did not include them in the "price paid". They were charged when we checked in. This place does not do housekeeping unless you order it separately for $20. Putting the "destination" and "resort" fees in the fine print is dishonest by Mauna Loa Airpads and also by Hotels.com. Honesty matters to me.

Don't ever use Airpads!!!
My Airpads stay was horrific. First off, they were the ONLY company that made it difficult when my flight was cancelled due to the hurricane. Not only did it take several hours and phone calls, but it was also the ONLY company that charged me more. The phone number to request for more towels was disconnected so I had to call either hotel pads who would call housekeeping, or housekeeping who would then call hotelpads. When booking Airpads, at least tell guests that they will not be receiving any services from the hotel. BUT that also doesn't stop the hotel from charging you a check in fee and the resort fees. For internet that isn't even assigned to your room!
