This ‘bed and breakfast’ is central and cheap but don’t expect to get any sleep. This is the loudest property I’ve ever stayed in. I think there’s a nightclub directly underneath?? Crazy loud until 3am or later (has a sleeping tablet at 3am). For a bed and breakfast the ‘croissant’ for breakfast is so repulsive I literally gagged and had to rinse my mouth. I thoroughly regret not reading the other reviews before booking because this is clearly common. Also, no information is provided about checking in. You need three different codes to enter the property none of which are provided before arrival which meant I had to turn on my data and roaming to call and ask for them. If you want cheap and central try the Hotel San Lorenzo. It’s across the square, half as noisy and more authentic. With staff on site to assist. Wouldn’t wish the Il Mercato in my worst enemies.

DO NOT STAY, YOU WILL REGRET IT
Awful place, mouldy and damp. The owner is rude and aggressive, and as two young girls we were scared. We couldn’t even stay here a single night out of five and will receive no refund. I only took a few photos but there are worse parts of this DAMP, SMELLY, MOULDY and absolutely DISCUSTING place. The messages we got from the owner were rude, defensive, in complete denial of the state of the place and even scary. Please, there are so many beautiful rooms in Florence, lots even cheaper and I’m sure nearly all of them are in a better condition than this.

A colourful experience
All rooms have a different colour theme, ie the blue room, orange room etc. We had the black room which was clean enough but being all black it was just not my cup of tea. Breakfast was the bare minimum, coffee and a flavoured croissant but they did provide complementary condoms in our room, must be a local custom? Great location for all the main sights and handy for the train station plus its right next to the main market. Good price good location, cant really fault it.

Clean, Secure, Close to the Duomo - no Breakfast
The location was great and the room was clean, comfortable, and secure. Guiseppe (proprietor) had great communication and was very kind. The room I stayed in was the "dark room" so it was very...dark (black wall paint, sun blocking drapes). The internet was out the first night I stayed (stayed 2 nights) so that was a bummer. Also, the breakfast offered is a misnomer for US travelers - breakfast was coffee pods and prepackaged croissants. Instead I woke up early and walked to a breakfast shop a few blocks away.

Shared apartment with good location
For $80 a night we found this spot a good value. It has been recently remodeled and the design is unique and up to date. Importantly, the unit is clean, in a good location, and has a comfortable bed. Part of the reason we booked this place was that it calls itself a b&b with breakfast included. Unfortunately, "breakfast" consists of a few individually wrapped grocery store pasties and bread left in the room as well as a pod coffee maker that makes bad coffee. Additionally it's important to note that this is an apartment that has been converted into this little hotel. It consists of five rooms with a shared living room. Each room has it's own mini fridge but there is no access to the main kitchen. Sound carries throughout the apartment and your experience could drastically vary depending on who else is staying in the apartment at the same time.

Très belle chambre qui correspondait aux photos. Emplacement de l'hôtel idéal ! Attention seulement aux petits déjeuners en libre service, pour pouvoir en profiter il faut se lever tôt.
