Recommended if NOT in a rush!
A lovely and friendly welcome in a very nice place. Very comfortable room with a particularly clean bathroom. The breakfast was first rate with lots of options including vegetarian: however the service was very slow and confused - toast etc to wrong tables and a long wait.

Disappointed overall, our room was ok although the bathroom was out of the 80s and needed updating, we booked a table in the restaurant for 8.30 as we were told that there was a Caribbean theme night and tables would be busy until then however when we arrived for dinner we were then told we’d have to sit in the small crowded bar area! We then had to drive a few miles to find a alternative which turned out to be a great little Italian in Ilchesrer called Nuova Italia l recommend it , great food and Service! To add insult to injury when we checked out the next morning we were charged for the soft drink and glass of wine we’d half finished when we had to rush out and find an alternative restaurant . No real apology given , very poor service. Breakfast was fine but we will never return , on our tour of the south that week it was the poorest service we encountered by far

Weekend stay.
It was such a lovely hotel, very quaint and a bit old fashioned. Gorgeous breakfast and great service. The village where it’s based is very peaceful & although I don’t go for a walk around it, I’d imagine it’s a very pleasant walk. The only thing I’d say could improve the rooms is to have black out blinds. I woke up so so early due to how light the room became, black out blinds would solve that straight away. Other than that it was perfect for what I needed.

This hotel is fine, just don't take room 9 , the noise from the hotel boiler/water pump ensures that a good nights sleep is impossible.

A home away from home
The hotel was very charming both inside and out. Located in a lovely village and the husband-wife duo were fantastic hosts. We stayed the first evening they reopened after the Christmas/New Year period and they made sure the room and facilities were warm, cosy and very inviting for us. We ate in the restaurant that evening. The selection was good, as was the price and the speed of service. Similarly, the morning breakfast was wholesome, tasty and speedily delivered. The owners were the perfect hosts - happy to allow us peace and quiet as well as chatting to us and offering us advice on local attractions en-route and directions. Although this was a business trip we felt like the hotel stay made the trip more enjoyable than normal. Would certainly stay there again if in the area.

This is a small, nice hotel. We had a lovely room and both the evening meal and breakfast were fantastic. Our only complaint was some sort of pump from the heating that kept cutting in and out. Thankfully this was off between 2300 - 0600. If I was looking for somewhere to stay close to the A303 again I’d definitely consider this hotel

Excellent quality hotel
We stayed one night and had breakfast. The accommodation was clean and attractive - everything worked and the room was warm and cozy ! Breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared for us. We had a quick wander around the village before we left as it is very pretty.
