We stayed for 4 nights on a 2 bedroom deluxe. We were very disappointed with the TERRIBLE service given: 1. Room Size - 80M2 for deluxe 2 bedroom?? B.S! it's about 65m2 - I measured it. I'm an Interior Architect. 2.We receive an email one day prior stating that if you check in after 7pm there will be a fee.All guests arriving after 7pm will be charged with ridiculous fees of :7PM - 9PM - $49.00, 9PM - 12AM - $99.00. This has to be stated in the beginning not a day before we arrived! what if our flight was delayed? 2. Check in : $300 deposit will not be refunded for 7- 31 days later, if you are with CBA forget about getting your money back till 31 days later. 3. Customer service : You will be given a number to call which goes straight to message bank and NO ONE! will ever call you back. 4. Beds - DOONA WAS COVERED WITH PERIOD BLOOD! and small stain of blood. I called customer service, left message twice and no one called back! Sheets were dusty. 5. Amenities - GET YOUR OWN TOILET ROLL. 6. Check-out : Ensure that the apartment are Spick and Span. No feedback if I get my deposit back? Just clean and get out. So they can save on cleaners. 7. CHECK OUT: 10am, No storage for luggage REGARDLESS. I explained when checking in that I have my two girls, 2 luggage which is hard for us to walk around the city with. He said nope. One of them was unwell that day and I had to explain to the airline before they finally change our flight in the morning.

The view from 59th floor was spectacular! It was quite nicely furnished in very good condition. What was short of making our experience perfect is the communication on check in timing. It was stated check in starts from 2pm in the confirmation email, web chat asked for my confirmation a few days before, and someone even called me the day before to confirm that we can check in at 2pm. When we arrived on 28 Jun 2019, i gave a call at 1pm to ask if the room will be ready by 2pm and i was surprised with a cold 'nope' response, check in starts at 3pm. We had to make changes to our plan and settle at a nearby eatery while waiting for time to pass. The water heater was down and it was promptly fixed after a call to the desk. Staff also brought us 2 room heaters and check that the aircon heater is working before leaving. That truly makes up for it. Overall, we will still recommend Empire to anyone who is looking for a convenient and comfortable stay in CBD area.

Poor experience
The apartment is close to everything. The view is open and nice. The room was not prepared at 2pm, and I received the key at 330pm. The staff replying on the internet was polite, but the communication between the site manger and the online staff was very poor. I received no instruction to check in / get the key prior to my arrival, not even until 2pm. I had to reach out to get updated. They asked for the copy of my credit card and ID few days before my arrival, but I could not find their privacy policy. They emailed me for the mentioned information. I replied and they simply did not confirm receiving and provide the check in instruction. Meeting the site manager, he swiped my credit card to hold deposit on it. But why collecting my credit card information in advance. There was no wifi in the room. I entered the room and settled down, and I realized there was no wifi in the apartment. Once again, I contacted the host online. They replied there was no wifi available in that apartment. They said the site manager would give me a portable one later. Eventually, they provided the portable wifi at around 6pm. I stayed for two nights in this apartment. After one night, the portable wifi ran out of data. We lost wifi access on our second day. The connection by phone was poor in the apartment. We had a night without internet. For the apartment, I found a pin on the floor. That could be dangerous if someone stepped on it. There was no rubbish bin in the living room nor kitchen.

everything is terrible. when we come in the to the room at the first time, it was left as if someone was in hurry to leave. The room was not in a condition to be served to customer. wet towels were left on the floor, bed was used without being changed, garbaged and dust was everywhere. Absurd instruction to check in (check in after 6 pm will require additional charge) and to check out. Because it was already late at night and we don't want to spend money to other hotel, we just clean the apartment, buy detergent and dish soap to clean up and change the bed ourselves. We left it also in a clean manner, we throw all the garbage, put the dishes running in the dish washer, but the hotel deposit was also not being process quickly and there was even no further information about it (it's been more than 2 weeks without further contact). The only good thing about it is the location. other than that, nothing to be excited for.

Spacious Apartment-Great view, excellent Cbd Spot
Cbd Empire is an enormous building with 100's of apartments-filled with mostly students-it is very busy with the 4 lifts constantly moving- two of the lifts felt very Dexter like as they were lined with padded plastic. Fortunately our apartment was fairly well appointed. It did however look a little unfinished with paint spots on most of the floors which is an easy fix. Cleaning must be limited as there was dust everywhere.and a shower drain clogged with hair-which again was an easy fix. Unfortunately we only received one set of keys which is not convenient if you are sharing the apartment with others. The pool that was a feature of the building has been closed since the end of February due to a flooding incident-would have been nice to know this before our arrival. Despite giving the manager of the property half an hour before that we were on our way we still had to wait an additional 20mins until she arrived. She was unprofessionally dressed and looked like a student- She quickly took our cc details and left us to find our way up to the room-so we were constantly contacting her about the apartment by text. The biggest issue for us was security as we found we could only lock the door if we opened and locked from the outside and then slam the door shut-but being inside we never were sure about whether the door was locked or not. The location is fantastic just outside the free tram area and right next to Melbourne Central Station and a BWS and Woolies a very short walk.
