Fantastic Stay
The hotel was centrally located to nearby restaurants, shopping, attractions and most tours started a few blocks away. There is some road construction going on in front of the hotel so no tours can pick you up from the front door. The hotel was very clean, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast included with the room was fantastic!!! We looked forward to going down there each morning. The room was comfortable, especially the bed. We loved the shower and heated tile floor. The only issue we experienced which is not really the hotel's fault is that we had a street facing room and it was NOISY every night and were constantly woken up due to loud people roaming around at all hours of the night.

A Great Hotel bang in the centre of Reykjavik
We stayed in Reykjavik 2 nights as we usually do. Sand Hotel is bang in the centre of town. The comfort level is amazing for a hotel located where it is. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff surpassed Amazing & deserve recognition, every query was answered. Every member of staff is friendly & willing to help. Even with a street facing room there was little noise & I wouldn’t swap - but if you are noise sensitive ask for a back room. Parking is on the street or nearby car parks. It was worth the extra cost for the location and comfort

Our initial vacation and accommodations were cancelled by Icelandair due to the strike. We decided to rebook the entire vacation with a different airline, hotel, and tour companies. We are so glad we did. We had one of the best trips of our lives. Our hotel was by far the nicest hotel in all of Reykjavík. Beautiful, modern, all the amenities you need. We arrived at 6:00 a.m. and we're not able to check in early unless we paid 50 euros. We decided not to pay. But when staff realized that we had a long wait, they offered us croissants and coffee. It was a very kind gesture. The rooms were clean, breakfast was amazing, location was great, staff was kind and helpful. Would recommend. If I ever return to Reykjavik, I would only stay at Sand Hotel.
