Great location. Restaurant was nice, which is fortunate because you're up on a hill and it's not easy to just go find somewhere else to eat. Breakfast was generous with many options. The interior of the hotel isn't fancy, as it's many winding hallways, but the room is clean and we had enough space. We loved being right by Dyrhólaey.

Good 6.0
Functional but needs better maintenance
The hotel is in a good location but is patronaged by tour groups so, dinner and breakfast is a little crazy. Buses were blocking the good view. We did request a room change for the better view.

The views are what makes this place unique. Located on top of the mountain, you can look at Reynisfjara beach from the comfort of your room if the day is clear. The facilities themselves are more spartan - it has all the necessaries to provide rest for the tired traveler, but it reminded me of a dorm/summer camp. The breakfast was great, really good spread. We came in the summer and had no trouble with the steep gravel driveway, but I am not sure how it would work out in the wintertime, with snow or bad conditions....

Nothing fancy but nice room for the south and south east portion of Iceland. Very close to the Black Sand Beach. My only complaint would be that the individual rooms did not have thermostats and to my son and I the room was too hot.
