2/10 Poor

Felt unsafe. Looked to be used for emergency housing. People outside arguing loudly from when I arrived at early evening, and into the night, repeatedy, and still again from6.30am. Rough dude sauntered up to my car while I unloaded, up to my bags, standing over them looking into them. Worst was reception, only working by phone only. DEE was exceptionally rude. Hanging up on me when phoning to ask for password for wifi. When phoning back as her instructions wrong, hung up again. Then tv does not work. Phoned again. Repeatedly hung up on me. False Advertising as having Sky. And tv. Nio Sky. No tv aerial. Only wifi tv, but no password supplied for wifi and was not setup to use. When phoning reception/Dee, she would not help, was extremely rude repeatedly, and of course, hung up. Basil Fawlty gave better service. Horrific experience with her. Did not feel safe at accommodation. Dee lets this accommodtion down. Will not recommend to anyone.

2/10 Poor

It was an old fashioned house and had some quaint decoration. However the facilities were terrible. The tv was poor that we had to use our own netflix, we couldnt get national tv channels, the internet was not stable and it took us 6 hours to watch a movie. The kitchen was woefully under resourced and no hot water, we didnt have adequate cutlery in our room, there was dust caked behind the beds and on the windowsills, the fan was broken, the iron had a very short cord. The housekeeping staff had limited english and could not understand our requests. Very poor lighting at the entrance at night.

Revolting. Room itself was okayish, bed comfortable enough and averagely clean. But property as a whole disgusting. I never provide feedback on properties...until now.

8/10 Very good

We were pleasantly surprised at the size and ambience of the room we had (41, which is the ground-floor room in the big house in the publicity photos). This is because we had read reviews of Halswell Lodge which said rooms were terrible and filthy, and others which said it was good. Staying there, we found out why. There is a block of rooms above the reception on Kent Tce which looked like a block of small, grotty boarding-house rooms. We were in a room in the big house above that block and we recommend if you stay at Halswell Lodge, make sure you are in a room in the big house.

Property was very tired. Reception was unmanned every time I went there. The key that unlocked the main door also unlocked my bedroom door and the safety chain was broken so I felt very unsafe staying on my own.
