Very disappointing. Staff not at all helpful. Acted like we were a bother to them. Breakfast was not on site and asking for directions seemed like an imposition.

Quaint...maybe too much so
We probably waited too long to make reservation but got a room for three nights. (We stayed for two.) Historic inn with accommodations spread over a few buildings. Our room was a suite. Very spacious. Rather dark. Bathroom was modern. Climbing stairs for older folks like us wasn't great with baggage. No offer to help us although staff generally was courteous and polite. Just make sure what you are getting. For $400/night just wasn't our cup of tea.
Stairs to our room
View from street. We're in 2nd floor.

Nervous about getting in before they closed.
I had trouble contacting the reservation desk for the half hour before the desk would close as there was no taxi, lyft or urber service from the train station. I didn't know if the hotel would be open when I arrived. No one was there when I got in several minutes before 10pm. But someone finally showed up. Otherwise the room was fine. Very clean and I appreciated the complementary creme sherry.

Beautiful historic village, disappointing stay
The original and main Beekman Arms housing is historic and lovely. I stayed there many years ago and was impressed and had a great stay at the Inn. This time a girlfriend and I decided to drive up from New York City and stay overnight. It wasn't until after the reservation was confirmed that it stated the room we were assigned was a "motel style room". I called to get clarification but already suspected it was NOT going to be a room in the main building. Instead it was in a guest house, situated away from the main building and just beyond the parking lot, separated by a lattice fencing. The quality of the room was not even the calibre of a Holiday Inn. Somewhat shabby with old uncoordinated pieces of furniture, a nondescript bare-bones bathroom. It looked like the construction and furnishing was thrown together with no thought to aesthetics. It was just one night and we managed, but I wouldn't stay there again, nor would I ever recommend the lower priced room (just under $300 per night) to anyone I know. There are other chain hotels/motels in the area. THAT SAID, the tavern and restaurant of the Beekman Arms were great. We had a very excellent dinner there. However, the free continental breakfast the next morning required a four block walk to another building called Delamater House. Research and plan carefully.

At the time of the booking I do not remember any indication that the room was situated outside of the main building which was charming me historic be the reason I chose the Beekman Arms! Our room was really in the parking lot! The room was shabby and depressing! No view, no ventilation, I felt like I was staying in a Motel 6 in a strip mall. Breakfast was also a walk from the hotel proper and the menu was very limited! The yogurt was warm ! Nothing looked fresh or appealing! I All in all I was highly disappointed !
