We had a positively fantastic experience at the Hyatt. We loved this hotel! Our room was modern, with lots of light from the many windows. Beds were quite comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with quality amenities. The pod coffee machine was a bonus. We had club access and adored the unlimited access to beverages and snacks. Fruit was available throughout the day, with a larger spread in the evenings. It was a relaxing place to end our day - or get a bit of refreshment during the day. The breakfast was included in our room price, and it was fabulous. We were able to select from the menu, as well as indulge in the well-stocked buffet. Magnificent! I used the fitness facilities and the machines were well-maintained. Bottled water is available to you during your workout as well. The location of the Hyatt is great. It's quite peaceful, yet accessible to most anywhere you'd want/need to go. Tram access and metro access is just around the corner. We had brisk March weather during our visit, and that is why we were glad we chose the Hyatt as our base. Besides being a very comfortable accommodation, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. If we are fortunate enough to return to Amsterdam, we would choose this hotel again. I wholeheartedly recommend the Hyatt!

Exceptional 10.0
I was initially apprehensive about the location, which is east of the old historic center, but in the end really loved it. It was a beautiful 20 minute walk or easy tram/subway ride to everything. Across from the hotel are a wonderful hipster bar, ATM, grocery and wine stores. I liked staying in a neighborhood, away from the crowds of tourist. I stayed on the club floor, the room was nice with a view of trees, bike path and canal. The room had a fairly basic open concept bathroom. I had some minor design questions about the orange chair/ ottoman and the weird muddy green color of the wood, but that's just me being picky. The club lounge was nice enough, but was so brightly lit in the evening it was not so welcoming. Who wants to have a glass of wine in a room so bright you could do an autopsy? Also I appreciate the friendliness of the hostess, she was lovely, but she could really tone it down a few notches, sometimes you just want a quiet drink and contemplation not constant chatter. The breakfast room which is also the hotel's fancy Indonesian restaurant was great, a beautiful room which was by contrast to the lounge beautifully lit, warm and inviting. I would not hesitate to stay here again I just don't think I would splurge for the club floor.

We had a fantastic time, the hotel was exactly as expected. Modern, comfortable, clean, close to the metro station and tram stop. We enjoy the walk and prefer the quieter location so perfect for us but it's a good 30min walk in to the old town if you want to be in the middle of everything which might not suit everyone at night. We had an excellent Indonesian meal in the hotel restaurant, as good as we have ever had and given the prices in general in Amsterdam it wasn't overpriced. The same cannot be said of the breakfast. This was one of 2 disappointments. The breakfast was a complete rip off, massively overpriced which the hotel probably gets away with because there's not a lot of options around it. We walked 15mins on days 2 and 3 as we refused to pay the best part of £50 for 2 average breakfasts. The other complaint was returning to the room after a long day out to find no coffee, tea or milk replaced in room, dirty cups not changed and no replacement shampoo, shower gel, etc. For £250 a night this wasn't a lot to ask. Overall very good hotel, nice staff and a good location of you like to walk rather than be right in the centre of things. Would certainly stay here again.

Very good 8.0
Nice stay.
Hotel and breakfast package was great. Hotel was in great quiet part of town. It seems like the hotel was too eager to make money on the guests though. We prepaid our three night stay. We arrived the morning after our first nights stay (late arriving international flight). We purchased the breakfast option. At breakfast we were told we needed to pay for that mornings breakfast. That it was “before “ our checkin. We said that we technically checked in the night prior / just showed up late. To servers dismay - she had to verify. On checkout, we were told we needed to pay room rates again. We explained we prepaid through internet. It took a while for them to see that we already paid. Then, they charged us room rates again when they said we wouldn’t. This required phone calls to solve.

Fabulous!
The Hyatt Regency is a wonderful new hotel in a beautiful, airy neighbourhood close to the centre of town. We enjoyed the extremely personable staff and the very comfortable rooms. Showers in the well appointed bathrooms were a treat, as was sleeping in the ultra-comfortable beds dressed in high quality linens. The neighbourhood has several excellent restaurants within walking distance, including our personal favourite place for breakfast -- Bar Bukowski. Also try the excellent Visbar Beet for fresh fish and a funky atmosphere and the lovely Cafe Restaurant Plantage. Staff are happy to help with any requests -- we purchased tickets to the Rijksmuseum at the front desk and saved considerable time not having to line up at the museum. A special thanks to the lovely Aprila for going the extra mile with exceptional customer service and personally delivering small free weights for use in the room! Fabulous all round -- we would love to stay again when next in Amsterdam.
