Great location & staff
Grids is very conveniently located which made eating & shopping a breeze even in the cold winter. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Space is tight, as expected but clean & well-organized.

Grids Sapporo review
Grids is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Sapporo. The location is close to shops, bars, restaurants and train. The staff are the friendliest I've met while traveling. They are kind, helpful and fun. I would highly recommend staying here.

Good value, Needs to improve customer service
Overall it was a clean and nice hostel/capsule hotel. (Except I saw a bug by my bed.) Its location was great and easy to find. However I didn't think some of their staff was very friendly, didn't even say hi or anything. Richard was nice to fulfill my request to save the bottom bed for me, but when I checked in and mentioned it at the reception desk, this frowning Japanese guy looked annoyed and made a sarcastic comment which made me feel uncomfortable and also made my stay unpleasant.

There is nothing i can really complain about
First of all, the location is just excellent: between two big metro stations (even within walking distance of Sapporo station!) and near the famous Tanukikoji Shopping Street and nice Ōdōri Park. Next, the staff is friendly and very professional. What's more, the personal space in the dorm room I stayed is really big, I could open my 24-inch suitcase without any problem. If I have to be picky, I'd say if there is a small mirror beside the bed and that'll be perfect!

Excellent accommodation at a convinent location!
The hostel is located right at the heart of the shopping district Tanuki 5, within walking distance to both Susukino and Oodori Park. The bedding is comfortable, with the blanket especially good. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only down tick I'd give them is that they'd charge a fee to help to store luggage if you check out early. It's a pity, although I can understand given their limited space.

Will come back again , good place to stay
It didn't feel very cramped and comfortable. My first experience at a capsule style hostel, and I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the place was .The shower rooms were perfect, the location was close to underground walkway ,buses ,trains stations and in the middle of a food and shopping hub . Perhaps a thicker layer or partition to make the sound proofing better. Stay in 4th floor for 4 nights , first 3 nights was quite, comfort and surrounding tenants was very caring minded , not until the 4th night, I was hearing every single sound from upper bed, unlock/lock the locker, all kind of sound until earlier hour in the morning. This is so annoying because I will be checking out for the earlier flight.
