Disappointing check-in

Very disappointed with check-in.. I was communicating with staff via message through hotels.com. I was told that the staff would be there in 5mins to let me drop off my luggage. Waited for 1 hr and finally called the hotel # and was told that the staff would be there in 5 mins and he was. Should have called the # but I didn’t want to spend extra int’l call.

Pros and cons, ok for a budget apartment.

The owner was very friendly and also very helpful about the area, and reached out very quickly regarding check in once we booked. The apartment in general was clean, but smelled of oil paint and a faint smell of nicotine which may be why it was recently painted. It was not in a very great neighborhood, no AC, only fans provided. This was one of the hottest weeks of the summer and it was not comfortable as leaving the windows open meant we heard a lot of noise from the street and smelled people smoking, or closed the windows and were extremely hot. The bathroom was also shared with 2 other apartments and was not in the best condition. The stairs were very long, steep, and narrow and no elevator. Overall it was ok for a budget apartment if you want to save money, but not that great for comfort.

Saimir was a kind and gracious host. The accommodations are rustic, yet very clean and elegant. The room had a fan, which saved us in the hot summer heat. Our room had a beautiful terrace, and a full kitchen in the living room area, which we shared with other guests. The bed was extremely comfortable! The location is safe and quiet, hidden away from the hustle and bustle, yet only a short walk from the center of the action. We would stay again for sure!

Pros: -the host was very nice -The room was clean -The location was close enough to train station to walk and fairly well accessible to different bus routes -Very good restaurants, cafes, ice cream places, laundromats near by -very close to the river for a beautiful evening stroll Cons: -at least (!) a fan should be provided (no AC) -shower: Manageable but not ideal. The bathroom is also the shower & vice versa (1x1 m, or 3.3ftx3.3ft). It’s tiny. After showering, bathroom floor is wet-no access to toilet or sink w/o getting feet wet. Shower head is right across toilet, there’s a curtain to wrap around to shield off from toilet and sink but you keep knocking your knee into the toilet. -Worst part: Unbearably loud! Paper thin walls. You’ll hear your flat neighbors talk plus the building neighbors that the room/balcony opens up to. Screaming, talking, arguing, flute and accordion rehearsal, singing, clicking of the gas stove, passing gas- it can all be heard (promise) and using ear plugs won’t do the trick.

The hotel is in a good location. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was that the stairs to get up are very steep and we traveled with an infant so it was a little challenging.

Wouldn’t recommend

The room was very small and hot, with just a lamp as a light. The shower was over the toilet & there was very little room to stand in the bedroom, you pretty much had to get ready sitting on the bed. The location isn’t nice either if you are wanting to see florence, from the map it looked close to the centre but is actually about a 15 min walk down horrible side streets. Not very nice to walk back through after a nice evening in the centre. We stayed two nights and would have moved to another hotel as soon as we saw it if there had been any available.

Quaint and full of character

A slight amount of confusion over the door number of the apartment we were staying in upon arrival. However the apartment was quaint and clean with all the necessary facilities. A little dated but very much full of character. Would consider staying here again as it was an excellent location, very close to the station.

Ponto positivo: somente a localização Pontos negativos: todos Check in péssimo. Aluguei um endereço e me colocaram em outro. Tinha instruções iguais e confusas nos dois. A chave de um apto abre o outro. O apartamento tinham portas de entradas difíceis de abrir e a porta para uma sacada não abria. A banheira do banheiro social não escoava a água, acabava o banho com a água enchendo a banheira. A ducha não funcionava a regulagem de altura e agua quente somente uns pingos. Lamentável. O banheiro do quarto duplo não funcionava a descarga do vaso sanitário, tinha que ajudar jogando água com um balde. Inacreditável. Área comum escura, sem ventilação nenhuma, cheia de pernilongos, wi fi somente para mensagens whats app, nem vídeo enviava e não abria nem o Google Maps Chek out pior ainda. Deixamos as malas por 4 horas e pagamos um absurdo por isso. Na retirada das malas, no horário combinado o anfitrião sumiu, quase perdemos a passagem para Roma, não atendia celular e nem respondia mensagens e apos o atraso ainda foi muito ríspido e grosso. Péssimo anfitrião. Fujam desse lugar. Simplesmente péssimo.
