Good
Affordable accomoation for a traveller, but could use an extra bathroom downstairs, only 1 to share and cleanliness could improve.

This place is old style with a very relaxed feel. Old fashioned Keys for room entry. Will come again.

Room smelled old Great building, needs the rooms gutted and re-done Tv too small and wrong position for the bed Wife tried to book another hotel at 12:30am when we returned home, luckily she fell asleep before confirming the credit card details Told to be quiet with normal door usage...

Very good
The location is great, close to shops and the University of Sydney. It's a beautiful, old house full of character. Nice and clean with helpful, happy staff.

Very good
Unique building with pretty exterior. Room was average size with a small bathroom, pretty much what I expected considering the price and location. Everything was cleaned.. but felt kind of grubby? The room felt humid & I could hear every cough or toilet flush from the room next door. Was fine for a one night stay.

Exceptional
Great location. Friendly helpful staff. Room was good value for money, but fairly basic. No view from my room, but I enjoyed having coffee on the balcony. Would happily stay there again

Poor
This property is not a thing like what I was expecting; particularly considering the price and the star rating. The building itself is quite nice considering how old it is, but the rooms themselves are downright awful. We stayed in a double room with ensuite, but the ensuite was basically unusable. The door to the ensuite (which should be a sliding door!) completely blocks access to the shower when opened, and the only way to access it is by awkwardly standing over the toilet and closing the door behind you. On top of this, the toilet was uncomfortable to use due to how close it is to the sink, and the position you have to sit in to avoid hitting it. Moving on to the bed, I understand that this is by no means a luxury hotel, but having stayed in plenty of budget accommodation before I can safely say the mattress was horribly uncomfortable by anyone's standard. Finally, there was the issue of the "water closet". What I am referring to here is a small cupboard next to the bed containing some plumbing from the floor above. The pipe had water draining through it almost the entire time we were there, and the door didn't have any kind of soundproofing to alleviate this issue. On top of this, the pipe wasn't even sealed around its entry to the roof cavity, so we had roaches coming out of the void multiple times making our experience quite disgusting. Staying in this room put a dark cloud over my partner's birthday weekend, and I can safely say we will not be back!
