Never again
There was no breakfast as advertised, the room was clean when I arrived, but was not cleaned during my entire stay, the microwave had splattered food all over the inside and dripping down the refrigerator and guests that came in late at night were noisy. The last 2 nights, it was not possible to take a shower, because the cold water in the shower wasn’t working and the hot water was extremely hot.

Perfect for an overnight stay
Due to an early morning flight from Keflavik, I stayed overnight at CB Guesthouse in August 2018. The property is a short 10min drive from the airport and is located on the main street opposite a supermarket and also the restaurant/bar of the Radisson Hotel. Free parking is included beside the property. The best way I can describe the property is cheap and cheerful. Check-in is self-service. You receive a code in advance to unlock a security box for the property and room keys and see yourself to your room. I stayed on the ground floor, which you enter from the street. The room itself was simple (comfy bed, desk, drawers) and was spotlessly clean. The toilet/bathroom is shared but was also very clean. There is a communal, open-plan living area and also a kitchenette with a microwave and fridge. The only negative thing I can say is that the walls are very thin, and I was woken up by someone returning in the middle of the night. Therfore, I would recommend bringing earplugs. That said, this isn't the fault of the property and was due to an inconsiderate guest who showed little regard for other people staying at the guesthouse. All in all, if you are on a budget and need somewhere to overnight before catching an early flight, I would fully recommend the guesthouse.

Not Good
This is an unattended rooming house - I didn't see anybody else during my stay. The good points - onsite parking, good internet, close to shops and restaurants and the airport. The rest is negative. Room was small and spartan. Narrow bed tucked up against wall under sloping ceiling. No sheets - just a dirty mattress cover. As no staff, had to hunt and found sheet in room marked 'staff only'. Paintwork everywhere was dirty with many dodgy looking stains; everything covered in a veneer of dust. Shower was dirty and initially couldn't find way of locking bathroom door - eventually found key lying on floor. Toiletries consisted of a bottle of watered down handwash. Kitchen was badly equipped - just a microwave and a kettle with lid hanging off; dishwasher hadn't been emptied. Carpets threadbare with flooring that looked like it had been installed by a 6 year old with a toy saw. Electrical safety dubious - cracked socket in kitchen with connectors exposed that flashed when you plugged something in with an equally dodgy looking one at top of stairs. Said stairs were very steep - I am fit and agile but others would have difficulty getting luggage upstairs safely. OK - it's relatively inexpensive by Icelandic standards but pay a little more and get somewhere decent.
