Excellent central location , smac-dab in the middle of Amersfoort. Parking is a bit of a thing as there is no parking close by. Best bet is to park at the “Koestraat” parking garage. You will face a 10 minute walk with your lugage but it’s a nice walk thru the main shopping street. You will be able to buy a special discount card that reduces parking to 9 Euro per 24 hrs instead of 15 Euros. Despite this, I seriously recommend De Gaaper as the perfect place to stay when visiting Amersfoort

Service was really good, so was breakfast. It's right in the heart of Amersfoort but amazingly quiet. Super convenient. The single room I have was tiny but I guess I'll just book a bigger room next time then. :)

I received a warm welcome back, by first name. Key was ready. It was perfect! Breakfast in the am was just fine, although I missed the scrambled eggs! Will be back in the near future. Hotel De Gaaper is my home away from home in Amersfoort!

Great location
We spent one night here. It was right in the centre of the old town looking on to the main square where there are lots os cafes bars and restaurants. Consequently at the weekend it can be noisy up to 5am when people are being picked up in taxis. Earplugs are provided but in the longer term soundproofed glazing would be a good idea. However, it is still a great place to stay for a short visit. Staff are really helpful and it is a quaint old building. There are no lifts and taxis can’t get right to the Hotel so beware if you have lots of heavy luggage. There is a cafe attached which looks nice but we didn’t use it

Lovely place to stay. Situated in one of the beautiful squares in Amersfoort. Near all the shops and restaurants. Very helpful staff.
