I wish I could write about my actual experience at the hotel, but my flight to Iceland was cancelled due to covid 19 restrictions on travelers from New York. I was horrified to learn that the management at Hotel Kira refused to refund our stay knowing that we were unable to come due to the pandemic. Every airline and hotel have been more than accommodating during this unprecedented time. As someone who has personally suffered from Covid 19 and recovered, I am even more astounded by the Hotel”s ungracious attitude. Both Expedia and I called the hotel numerous times to explain the situation and each time we were met with the same negative response. I would therefore not recommend booking a stay at this hotel.

The decor (especially the communal areas) was amazing, great food at breakfast and evening meal, the views from the dining area are lovely. Good location, friendly staff would definitely stay again

Its perfect experience in this hotel. There is a shopping mall just across the road. View is good.

Very nice hotel in Vik. We checked in during a hellish winter storm and the staff was great. The restaurant is very nice and the room was great. We went with the mountain view room and it had an excellent view.

Staff are nice, fantastic local breakfast.

Very good
The restaurant, rooms, and location are fantastic. The only things I found odd are: No eating or drinking in room policy and that they would not let you buy items off of specials menu ala carte.

We loved the hotel, clean, great design, amazing restaurant for dinner and very welcoming and friendly staff. If they could add a small gym & an hot tub that would be great to come to after a cold Icelandic day

Gorgeous mountain view, very friendly staff, good food at the hotel restaurant (though I wish they had a slightly larger selection of main courses). The bedroom was clean and modern.

Pleasant stay at Vik
We stayed at Kria with my husband on our trip to Iceland for 2 nights. It is a new hotel, overseeing the Black sand beach. it has plenty of parking available. Due to the storm on our second night, we ate at the hotel, and the food was amazing, 10 star. Few callouts I want to make for potential visitors - this hotel is a 'bed' hotel, meaning they don't have any activities , music etc. So if you get stuck and can't go out, there is not much to do. Surrounding area is kind of dead as well (Vik is a super small town, where everything closes around 9-10pm.) If you are planning on making the hotel a base and do day trips (like to Jokulsarlon, which is about 2,5 hour drive under normal conditions), it is the perfect place for you. Overall I'd recommend!

New feeling hotel with good breakfast
Nice, new feeling hotel in Vik. Easy to park. Good breakfast but evening menu looked a little limited.
