We lived in the Ebisu area for several years in the 90's so we really like the area for convenience to the Yamanote Line and others. Close to busy Shibuya (you could walk in about 15 min) but a very quiet neighborhood. When we arrived we didn't notice there is a lift on the street level under the steps, so steps not so daunting w/ your bag. Our room was "Tokyo tiny", but to be expected. Our window faced a quiet neighborhood, the AC and room exhaust fan were excellent, king bed comfy. The pics of the rooms show your shower and toilet area are behind glass; yes, weird, but there are blinds you can drop from ceiling. We had slippers, hair dryer and really practical "yukatta" style robes with buttons. I want one! Breakfast is in the small lobby but you then carry up to your room, so we had a picnic ea morning on our bed. A hot kettle in the room gives you choices for tea if the coffee downstairs isn't to your liking. (too bitter for me). Breakfast was rice (always) and varied with fantastic seaweed bits, small amount of fruit, maybe somedays a curry, a broth, etc. NOT a western breakfast, but we enjoyed it. Big supermarkets at Ebisu station can provide you any take away to supplement: we bought yogurt, granola, fruits/nuts and kept in the refrigerator in room. Staff were fantastic, friendly and spoke English. We never took a taxi (on principal) from Haneda Airport we took the train to Shinagawa and then right to Ebisu. (We travel with very small bags). Great stay!
