I had a great time staying at Two Peas Pod Hostel, it reminded me of the hostel in Singapore. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. I was surprised that there was no door in our room/pod, but the pod/bedroom was exclusive for women and it's locked so I was okay with it. Also, the ladies in the room I was in were very respectful. At first I was worried about sharing the same washroom with guys but it's safe and the toilet and showers have doors from ceiling to floor so you won't have to worry about anyone taking a peek. It's very clean. You can make waffles for breakfast and there's a fruit cup and yogurt too. I wasn't able to see the patio though because they were fixing it, but I'll definitely be back!!

Modern and great value for money
Modern hostel, excellent value for money. If you’re not good with stairs, you may have issues.

One of the Best Hostels
Really this place was a travel experience in & of itself. The price is higher than other hostels I've stayed, but well worth it just for the very chill and somewhat post-modern atmosphere. The word "Pod" is quite literal, in that you get your own private little space even in a shared "room". The location is good, but the staff are priceless. If you happen to be staying when they hold a social event on the rooftop terrace, I'd say make it a point to catch at least part of the occasion. Travelers are the coolest people to hang out with, and this brings 'em together. Even if there's no gathering, do your daily catch-ups on the terrace with a beer or wine and enjoy the view!

I like my pod, hanging out in the patio, and the free breakfast. The location is good. Friendly and informative staff. If i would go back i will definitely stay here again.

Cheap but noisy
Got stuck in a room beside the beeping/slamming door to the stairwell. Hard to sleep in at all. Staff were great.

10/10 would recommend!
This place was absolutely incredible, it was in the perfect location for a weekend stay in Toronto. I was surprised by the amazing rooftop patio, cinema room and lounge. The front desk staff were above and beyond sweet, helpful and charismatic (unfortunately, that cannot be said for some of the daytime staff but it wasn't that big of an issue). I stayed in the private room, which was great for privacy and safe storage. The pods were incredibly comfy and cozy, however, it needs to be noted that not every guest is considerate and may elephant stomp, take loud early morning calls, or let the doors slam. I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me, but if this is going to be an issue you have been pre-warned. Yes, there are lots of stairs to the bathroom but it really was not as dramatic as the other reviews make it sound (I actually prefer the bathrooms to not be on the same level because the flushing, showering and hand dryers would otherwise be a nightmare). Yes, there was a bit of a husky smell in the bathroom area and the water pressure wasn't the greatest on my last morning, but I didn't feel like that defined the entire stay at all. It hostel felt incredibly safe, hip and modern. The pros HEAVILY outweigh whatever cons you run into. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, it was a very cool experience within the city and I 10/10 would recommend. P.S. the pods were very cold! My best friend loved it since this weather has been extremely hot, but be prepared if you get cold

Great hostel
Overall my stay at this hostel was pretty good. The staff was nice, check in was simple and they offered me a quick tour of the place. The rooms were great. I loved having privacy in my pod with a light, fan and even a tv. Bathrooms were decent, and very clean. The only issues I would say is that there are no doors to the rooms just a curtain. If I wanted to change I had to either go two levels down to the bathroom or do it in my pod. It was noisy having people slam the hallway doors all throughout the day. If there was a door, I probably wouldn't have noticed. Also, the fruit flies were everywhere! The bedrooms, the bathroom, the kitchen etc. Please find a way to get rid of them. Still I would probably stay here again for a couple of nights for a cheap price.

Best customer service, not entirely accessible.
I will stay here again when coming into Toronto! The hostel was very cute and in a great part of Toronto, very close to the bus station and right inside Chinatown. Everything was very clean and the staff was beyond accomodating (shoutout to Sarah who gave us a tour and helped us figure out where we needed to go!). The only thing I disliked about the location was the washrooms being located in the basement (a couple flights of stairs) which was a little problematic if you had to use them asap. I didn't realize there would be so many stairs to be honest but they have really made the absolute best out of the tall, narrow building that the hostel is located in. I'm unsure if they have an elevator, but probably wouldn't recommend staying here to people with accessibility concerns.

Charming and comfy modern pod hostel downtown
I had a lovely short stay in this charming little modern hostel. I've stayed in a number of newer ones, they often rush to open, w. little thought to guest comfort. Not here, would stay again! :D PROS -Friendly, helpful, efficient staff; let me drop luggage early -Comfy memory foam mattress/pillow, clean linen -Pods had it ALL: plugs (USB+Regular), curtains, light, TV+earphone jack, earphones to lend, even mini fan! -Wooden stairs didn’t hurt my feet/hips NEARLY as much as normal ladders + served as shelf -Many details, e.g. lockers (underbed+Common area); signage; welcome kit w. earplugs, lock, map; free laundry soap; option for WhatsApp contact; hair dryers; full mirrors -Very secure, fobs for all rooms + front door after hours -Extra amenities like coin laundry -Basic continental breakfast (toast, fruit, yogurt), didn’t have time to try waffles -Coffee + black tea free anytime -MOST AMAZING SHOWERHEADS, also I was glad for locking doors (washroom is co-ed) CONS -No way to turn off hall light at night, it shone into my pod above curtains :( -Security doors can be loud at night, lots of stairs to climb (be aware!) -Simple "Lounge", no couches, basically small breakfast room (OK) -Wifi cut out in evening and desk closes quite early, but I didn’t want to bother them -Washroom in basement = quite humid, hard to ventilate (they did their best w. dehumidifier), thus was a bit smelly (toilets, some mildew smell in shower) - BUT everything was very clean!

Stink Washrooms, good location
Check-in process was great and fast. Room is clean and the mattress is comfortable. I don't like the fact that there is no door in each room so you can hear everything when people open or close the main door. It is also would be nice to put snoring guest in the same room cos I was unable to sleep at all until morning even I had earplugs on. Washroom/bathroom area very stinks and not clean. I almost threw up a few times. It really needs more attention to clean it. Pubic hair is all over the bathroom floor. On my last day while showering I noticed something very tiny crawling on the bathroom floor. I looked closer, it was either parasite or worms. I jumped out of the shower right away and it is very disgusting. I notified the front desk guy upon checking out. I am not sure if he will do anything about it.
