This place just opened about a month ago. My husband and I live in KC and spent the night here last night just for fun for his birthday. These guys have gone way out of their way to capture an old world ambience in a very cozy yet styling way. Its an old Pendergast building joined to a former PBR bottling plant. So it’s got a warehousey-industrial vibe with exposed brick, reclaimed wood, huge exposed metal beams, random wall safes and vault rooms, lovely chandeliers, etc. The lighting is spectacular throughout—intimate and cozy. The lobby is awesome, the kind of place where you just want to hang out indefinitely. Big open space, bar, couches, a wood fired oven with pizza, backgammon, pool, books... Their brand new in-house restaurant Lazia is also lovely. We had the burrata app, and the carbonara and the squid ink pasta, all extremely tasty. (Only comment here is that the food was just on the edge of being over-salted. Still delicious though). Our room was great. Classy, lots of character. Excellent shower pressure! Very cozy bed, and A + on the lighting. Finally, this place did an amazing job of hiring happy, welcoming, enthusiastic staff. I got the impression from the moment we got to the door that everyone who worked there just thought the hotel was the coolest place ever, and that they were proud to be able to welcome you there. A real pride of association. Which was really neat! Totally recommend. It’s not just a hotel, but a full on experience.

Very good 8.0
But first, coffee.
Beautiful facility. But with the price, we were expecting a bit more amenities. It does have a great workout facility, but there are no coffee pots in the rooms. You could get rooms service, but that seems a little silly for a cup of coffee. (Note: They did have a coffee carafe for guests in the morning at their bar. Phew!) Our biggest issue was that there is only street parking or $25 per night valet parking. Fortunately they weren’t too busy and my husband knows how to parallel park. You also have to be wary of if you are in a room that overlooks the hotel’s restaurant or bar. It can get a little noisy at night. On the plus side they were very accommodating to help us change rooms. If you’re planning to be up late anyway, then this would be a non-issue but if you’re more of the morning type that values sleep, I’d see to it that you ask to be put somewhere else in the hotel.

Fair 4.0
Check in was not friendly and we couldn’t get a bellhop or any help with our luggage rack to our room. Shower floor was not clean as bathroom floor was not clean. I asked woman at front desk what I need to do to get ice since they don’t have ice makers and she said you simply have to call front desk and request it since they are a full service hotel so I said okay should I just go to my room and call and she said no I will have someone bring it up soon. She could have just asked for my room key and taken care of it instead of going on and on wasting my time with a snotty attitude really. The check in valet guy was great but the departure valet guy on Monday 7/22 was not very friendly and seemed to be bothered by us. I don’t believe I would stay there again.

We stayed at the Crossroads 1 day after the grand opening, and they were prepared! We didn't realize they were new when we booked. This is a very modern hotel with an industrial feel. Beautiful! Slightly hard to find once you are in the vicinity - we had to take a trip around the block. The staff are amazing, from the wait staff in the bar and restaurant, to the front desk. We booked it because it was close to the Spring Arena, and it turns out that was perfect. A three block walk to the free streetcar stop, then 2 stops and you're there. We hope to go to more concerts at Sprint, and we will always try to stay at Crossroads. Can't wait for a summer concert to use the rooftop bar. They keep the rooftop open so guests can check it out and the 360 view of Kansas City is spectacular. We will be back!

New favorite
This is absolutely one of my favorite hotels. Lots of positives: The rooms are spacious, the lobby bar is hip yet laid-back and welcoming, and the staff are professional and friendly. The location is great. We walked most places with an occasional uber. The most striking feature for me was the interior design. Love it. This isn't the first hotel to repurpose a factory/warehouse, but imo, this is one of the few that did it thoughtfully. They managed to make the cool, industrial style feel comfortable. I appreciate that comfort was not sacrificed for appearance. If you are looking for a cookie-cutter chain hotel or a super posh, grand cathedral, Crossroads is not for you. But if you appreciate creativity, attention to detail, quality, and service in a low-pressure environment, I highly recommend. And definitely eat at Lazia. So good!
