The property was nestled into the forest with great views and lots of birds. Since we are birders, we loved that we could walk the property and see lots of them. The staff were very friendly, helpful with knowing the area. We stayed in casita 10, which was the only stand alone cabin with a kitchen. Beautiful!

    Perfect Getaway in the Jungle!

I adore this place! We spent one night in the treehouse (which is adorable) and one night in a regular King Casita. Super comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms with spacious, unique showers. Our Casita had a lovely relaxing hammock on the screened-in porch. Be prepared that Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge is remote, several miles down an unpaved road; but, in my opinion, it's remoteness is absolutely part of the charm. The lodge is located right next to the Belize Botanical Gardens, where guests are free to roam at any time. My boyfriend actually spent about two hours wandering around the Gardens at night, spotting all sorts of nocturnal critters. The restaurant is very nice, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was not as outrageously priced as some of the other Muy'Ono properties I have visited. We enjoyed flavorful dishes each night - chicken, fish and steak - all were excellent. But I definitely recommend going into San Ignacio at least once for a meal at one of the local restaurants. Unfortunately, the bar area was closed for renovations during our visit, but I'm sure it is going to look great when it's finished. I guess we will enjoy a drink overlooking the river on our next stay! Finally, every single one of the staff is so friendly, kind and helpful. We especially enjoyed our evening dinner with Obie. Thank you Sweet Songs for making our Belize vacation very memorable!

    A major disappointment.

This resort is in a terrific location, worthy of a 5 star operation, which is what we expected at the price we paid. However the accommodation is 1 star at a 5 star price. The accommodation is drab, depressing, dingy and dark. There is absolutely no appeal to spend any time in the rooms or on the equally dingy enclosed terrace. The food we sampled was mediocre, also at a ridiculous 5 star price. US$13 for a simple omelette, or breakfast sandwich! You have to be kidding! The resort is only 5 miles off a major road and 9 miles from good provisioning. There is absolutely no excuse for the high food prices. The staff are great and seem very aware and even embarrassed by the rates when queried. Never again. We can book fabulous 5 star accommodation at the award winning Chaa Creek Lodge, just down the road at better value.

Staff were amazing! Friendly and helpful people with smiling faces. They went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. Grounds are beyond gorgeous. I wish we had more time to take advantage of the fun activities, like hiking, exploring the botanical garden, tubing and canoeing. And the wildlife watching from the deck was phenomenal.

    Best ecolodge in Belize!!

This lodge was perfect! We loved the treehouse bar, the complimentary drink, the birds that come eat breakfast in the morning, the beautiful grounds, etc! The service was amazing too! I would go back in a heartbeat!

Truly a Jungle lodge with an AMAZING staff.

Came with a group of 5 friends to San Ignacio in the hopes finding a place that was more secluded - this definitely did that! It is truly in the jungle, but still very updated amenities. The staff was absolutely AMAZING. There was a time where my friends and I got stranded late at night on the way to our hotel because the cab we ordered was unable to make it up the terrain due to the weather. Luckily, the staff took no time at all to use the hotel car to pick my friends and I at no charge in the middle of the night! I will say things were a little pricey. We enjoyed being further from the city center to get a more jungle feel, but if you wanted to be more central this might not be the spot for you. Overall would recommend and would definitely come back!

    Great resort.

Everyone we met was really nice - staff and guests. Obviously a reflection of the atmosphere the respite has created. We did not do the dinning plan, or resort trips, both seemed pricey heading into our stay. We ended up eating at the restaurant almost every night anyway because the road getting in during the rain made it very slick to travel on and not recommended to travel after dark making dinner in San Ignacio unlikely. Another couple made a similar comment on their changing of dinner plans for the same reason. They also had their car break down on the route out of the resort - tough hill both ways. We had a wonderful time exploring the botanic garden, using the tubes for a lazy river experience, and used the canoe to travel to the butterfly habitat at a the lodge near by. Also used our SUV (can’t stress how important a 4x4 is for the area) see the ruins and Barton’s Creek (treacherous route - seriously). Great resort and attention to guests.
