Excellent value for money, with a added bonus
The guesthouse offers very good value for money, especially because it offers a superb breakfast. An added bonus was the availability of a kitchen. This meant we could buy food from a supermarket and prepare it at the guesthouse, thereby saving money. The most 'frustrating' aspect of staying here was that we needed three keys to get to our room and the keys aren't marked in any way.

Comfortable hotel, but I don't recall it saying in the description that the bathrooms would be shared. That's not necessarily a dealbreaker, but I would have liked to have known.

Basic but clean room in Reykjavik
Check-in for Guesthouse Andrea is around the corner at Guesthouse Aurora. Breakfast is also served at Guesthouse Aurora. Breakfast was good with freshly baked loaves of bread, jams, peanut butter, nutella, sliced meats, cheeses, cucumbers, tomatoes, cereals, oatmeal, juices, and hard-boiled eggs. Rooms are simple but clean. Shared bathroom worked fine for me; never had to wait to use it. Convenient location near the big church with its tall, steeple that can be seen from almost anywhere in town (so it's always easy to find one's way home). No complaints.

Exceptional 10.0
Budget-friendly hostel
If you are on a budget or traveling with a big group, I would recommend this hostel. I stayed in a room for 6 people by myself, needless to say there was more than enough space. Every morning they provide a tasty breakfast, a perk in an expensive city. There is a small kitchenette, which I also used, with a fridge for storing food and cooking supplies. The location was really good, located near the big cathedral and the Einar Jonsson Museum - a must see if you like the set and costume designs of H.R. Giger who was clearly influenced by Jonsson's work.
