3-star hotel with 2 restaurants, near Grieg Hall
For the price I found Citybox pretty good! Super quick to get to the city center!

This is the modern sister hotel of the citybox further down in the centre and I believe…

While it's a bit out of the centre, the cost saving makes it worth considering. Nice, new, clean hotel. The self-check in didn't work for us but staff were on hand to help. The route from the tram to the hotel isn't so clear and there was a lot of construction going on when we visited but it's only a few minutes walk and the tram to town is quick. If you are flying it's on the route from the airport.

I liked that this place was in-between hotel and hostel: there was a common kitchen so I could buy my food from nearby supermarkets, no room cleaning everyday, but the room is private.

I booked via a website and didn't realise there were two Citybox hotels in Bergen and I was booked in the one that was across the bridge in a pretty soulless area. If you're a tourist, definitely go for the one that is in the City Centre. The cheaper cost of staying at Danmarksplass is not worth it given the cost and effort of travelling into the centre. Otherwise I was happy with my stay although people should be aware the rooms really are a box with the bed taking up 90% of the space.

Great hotel and room - very clean and modern. Good transport links- very close to the light railway. You can also walk to the centre in about 20 mins. Easy check-in and check out.

I would say this hotel is better than Citybox Oslo. I had hairdryer in the room and the bed was very comfy! I had a check in luggage and still had space to open it up. Iron and laundry facilities are available at a fee on the 2nd floor making my chores convenient. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Rema 1000 (supermarket) is just across the road making it super convenient. Slight problem with the electricty tripping and as a result, could not use the toaster and sometimes the microwave. A great communcal dining area though with all that we need! Forget Jaja restaurant in the hotel, too overpriced with a very limited menu. There is a GREAT authentic local restaurant behind Jaja/Citybox hotel called Sveins Grill. They make decent local fare like pizza, fishNchips, burgers etc at affordable prices. It is a good lunch or dinner spot as the restaurant is cutely decorated like a museum..!
