Rydges Wellington Airport
10/10 Excellent
"Rydges Wellington Airport provides not only the convenience of being on the doorstep of Wellington airport, it has friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a relaxing bar/restaurant."
"Just steps away from Lambton Quay and the waterfront thanks to a secret passage through a nearby hotel parking garage (it was the first thing the receptionist wanted to disclose). Room is about the size of a bachelor apartment. Bathroom was basically right next to the bed with a truncated shower stall (45 degree door opening) which meant I would occasionally brush up against the shower faucet and turn off the water. The combined dryer/washer was perfect for small loads but the spin cycle can get so loud you don’t want to be in the room. My room faced the front of the hotel and was surprisingly loud at night from people driving their souped up cars and motorbikes through the downtown as well as the sanitation trucks picking up loads of garbage. There is room for only about ten parking spots at the side of the hotel. "
"Parking was secure, telephone in our room didn't work so couldn't call reception. TV was to old to be able to connect device to to watch a movie, bathroom really dated and had black mould."
"Location of the hotel as well as the rooms were excellent. Easy parking for whoever brings their own vehicle. Most importantly staff are amazing, particularly Shiv who helped us immensely with our extended stay due to weather conditions. I highly recommended this hotel if you are visiting Wellington."
"Old but did the job for me. In the city, right opposite train station so pretty convenient if that’s where you want to be. Ensuite bathroom was clean enough. Sink is a bit tiny so awkward to fill jug up for hot drink but manageable enough. Was able to get a park outside on street which is free from 8pm to 8am the next day so that was good."
