"Hotel was basic. Somewhat run down. Our room was large and accommodated us- we were a group of 7. I believe it was overpriced for the amenities available and for the type of room. Pool was being serviced and unavailable."

"Lindo hotel, acceso fácil a la playa, muy seguro. La experiencia con la comida del restaurante no fue la mejor, sin embargo el personal que atendía fue excelente."

"This was a trip to Puerto Cayo. Puerto Cayo is a very very very sleepy little village west of Jipijapa. You have to want to go there. There has to be a reason. Otherwise, most people head to Frailes or up to Manta. If you want quiet and no people -- not cars in the streets or motorcycles making noise, then Puerto Cayo is for you. It's a beautiful and empty 5 mile long beach. Maybe 20 boats out every morning looking for fish. Whales are littler yards away migrating up or down the coast. It's...

"Very high end hotel, what I loved the most is the mall across the street, didn't venture out much since I came down with the flu, if I return to Manta, that would where I am staying.

"Owners were very friendly and helpful. This is a family friendly hostal with no partying, drinking, loud music. Made it easy to sleep. Rooms are basic, no AC, no hot water but private bathroom in our room. Bedroom could use fresh coat of paint but everything was clean. For the price it was a great value. Without a car it is likely further from the beach than easily accessible. We had our own car so it was a short drive. We would definitely recommend this hostal."

"I stayed 3 nights. It was great! I was visiting my daughter nearby. We had dinner with some of her friends--three courses--delicious. Great views--I saw 2 whales from the patio by the pool! Birds, butterflies, and blooming flowers."

"I was so happy to get a recommendation for Santa Marianita nr Manta, whilst the rest of Ecuador was under grey cloud. It has its own little sunny micro-climate plus has this little gorgeous gem of a hostel.
Oswaldo, the owner, is the most accommodating host and has made the hostel, with its bamboo structures, swimming pool, hot tub, pool table and hammock deck, the most delightful and relaxing place to stay.
Rooms are clean, spacious and the showers are with decent hot water.
