This trip was exhausting with unexpected weather at every new summit. But it really makes you focus on the goal and how much you love pushing yourself in the mountains....

Some days the grind feels like progress. Some days the progress feels like a grind. Some days I stare at my feet and forget to look up and get excited about the climb to come. Some days I forget to look back at the distance I’ve traveled. Some days the burn in my lungs and the ache in my chest makes me want to quit. Some days it drives me forward when my legs have lost all strength. Some days the loneliness of the climb gives me solace. Some days the loneliness is drowning. Some days I know the route like a dream I have dreamt a hundred times. Some days I am lost at every turn.

I told the mountains, “Some days, I can only exist.” The mountains replied, “Some days, existing is enough.”

I love the smell of avgas in the morning!

Airshow time!! Last year, the US government cut back on defense department spending, which cut into airshow performances around the United States. This year, the US Navy Blue Angels and the US Air Force Thunderbirds have been given the all-clear to perform at various shows around the country.

This shot of two Blue Angels F-18 Hornets making a high speed and close pass was taken at the South Texas Airshow on March 29th, at Naval Air Station, Kingsville. You'll see great performances like this at a lot of airshows this year.

Check out Milavia.net for this years' airshow calendar for a show near you.

Take lots if sunscreen, a hat, drink plenty if water and, of course, a camera with a decent zoom. This shot was taken at 200mm.
