The Western Hotel for the win
The charm, convenience, and friendliness of the Western Hotel and staff took our stay to the next level. We were upgraded to the apartment option across the street which gave us more room and amazing views. This place is top of the list when returning to Galway.

Good location and amenities.
The hotel was nice, clean and quiet. It is located very close to the downtown shopping, restaurants and bars. So. It is very convenient to enjoy the night life in Galway. The only issue I had was it was hard to find the parking garage at night, and since space is limited, they have a valet service to move cars around.

So close to everything you need
Very close to the city center, we could walk to Eyre Square in 2 minutes. Great bar and restaurant on the Property. Free underground parking was a bonus. Great hotel, nice and quiet, beds very comfortable and clean.

Loud TV’s from room
No the Hotels fault. The person next door had his TV up as loud and possible when I checked into my room on the 4th Floor. I could not really understand where it was coming from until I reached my room. I did not think too much about it as I was going out for dinner. When I returned it wa still as load. I had to call reception for them to come and ask them to turn it down but nobody answered the door. They then went and try to contact them via phone and then came back up again and finally got an answer. It was still loud until I ended up banging the wall. So at 11:30 it seemed to quieten down. Then at 07:15 next morning bang on it comes again. Walls and doors must be really thin or the person must have been dead. Anyway it wasted my night in Galway and Ila’s I said not really hotels fault.

Location, location, location.
Close to the excitement, but serene inside. Galway is famous for local music and nightlife, it is also a beautiful stop for nature lovers. Natural water scenes abound: the ocean, the bay, the roaring river Corrib, and every inch that connects them all. On a four star system they deserve five.

Waiting our turn to check-in I witnessed a receptionist unable to resolve another customer's check-in issue. She was discounting everything the customer said instead of working with the customer. It was rather off-putting to those of us waiting to check-in. After we had checked in, we found the tv remote missing. I had to deal with this particular receptionist and she asked me what type of tv we had. I did not know and she said she would send someone up to take a look. That never happened. I had to ask a second receptionist to follow up and she promptly took care of the issue. The second night we asked for a jug of water which never happened. Also later there was no hot water for a shower. We were told they were looking into it, and would notify us when it was resolved, but we never received a courtesy call. Luckily, the next morning we had hot water. I think probably they are overwhelmed and have issues with that particular receptionist. The overall appearance left a bad impression. I would not stay there again.

It's a nice hotel. The room was small, but i wasn't staying long so it was fine. Its nice that it was walking distance from shops and restaurants. They have parking so that was definitely a plus.

Great location. Wonderful staff.
Nice hotel. We were an hour early and were lucky our room was ready. Rooms are small, no fans. Could use a shelf in bath for toiletries, no space. Updating hotel so had construction below us. Noise was minimal. Elevators stop between floors so you do need to take luggage up and down several steps.

Wonderful Western!
The Western was a wonderful experience. Great location and terrific staff. The concierge staff was helpful, efficient, and professional. The restaurant was some of the best food we had for the entire trip and the staff was friendly and organized. The bar staff was lovely and we enjoyed the live music. And the parking was easy- the valet staff was friendly and qualified. Overall, we would stay here again and would recommend it to our family and friends.

4/10 Fair

The beds and bedding were uncomfortable. The room was hot and with no fan in the bathroom the room got damp. We had to leave the window open and could hear people putting trash into the dumpster multiple times at night. Anytime someone upstairs moved the whole room shook. They did not provide lotion or conditioner.

We loved the Western. The location was amazing. We walked to all the shopping, attractions and pubs. Our room had amazing views and was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our last night we spent in the hotel pub and they had the most amazing musicians playing and singing. We really enjoyed this and wanted to stay longer. We hope to stay here again someday. Thank you for such a great time!!!

The hotel was in walking distance to the fun in Gallway. It has a parking garage underneath that was a little tricky but the attendants helped with moving the cars. Best part was coming upon a jam session in the bar of local music!
