Our hotel stay was amazing. Very helpful front desk and hotel staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Many of the staff spoke English and were very helpful on local information and suggestions. Housekeeping staff were there every morning and supplied water, tea and coffee to our room. Our original stay was for 7 days but we had to extend our stay twice, and the hotel staff took care of everything. We had the breakfast buffet every morning and were very pleased with the food selections. We will stay here again whenever we return to Almaty!

Shops on the first floor were never open, the majority of staff had no ideas or references for shopping. Very limited ability to charge to room (results in multiple charges and fees for international visitors). Overall, these were small things as the hotel is lovely, the rooms comfortable, the location excellent, and several staff members (Svitlana at reception) are exceptional.

Good hotel
The hoteliers are friendly and the rooms are kept clean. Next time I visit Almaty again, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. The only regret is that I left my baggage at the hotel, but there was no separate storage room, so I kept it next to the front desk. Like other hotels, it would be nice to store luggage in the storage room and give luggage tags to customers to manage them safely. But you don't have to worry about losing your luggage or not.

Grat stay, friendly staff, front desk was very helpful when I had an emergency and needed to go to a hospital, they arranged everything including Taxi to hospital, who refused to take any money for the ride. I visit Almaty at least ones a year for one or two weeks for the past 8 years I always stay at the Dostyk. Love the Place, the staff are very professional, polite, helpful. The location is very convenient. The food at the restaurant and bar suburb, kudos to the chef Alecksandr Fomich, he never disappoints. The rooms are a little outdated, however clean and very comfortable. I wish they would install a railing on the front steps. In the winter it makes me nervous because of the possibility of slipping. I will definitely be back.
