4/10 Fair

No breakfast is available at this property. The Expedia website has breakfast available. Very disappointing to discover in the morning that the pub is locked with nothing available . Very expensive rooms if you can’t even get breakfast. This is not a hotel or B&B just a nice room with lots of road noise.

2/10 Poor

The Fire Alarm went of just after 6 am. I checked the other 4 rooms no sign of fire, my colleague phoned the emergency number, which went to voicemail he left a massage but no one got back to him the Alarm was going off continuously so we thought we better not get in the shower. We had 3 rooms and all 7 of us went for our day at Silverstone without a shower, no one from the Hotel got in touch 😡.

6/10 Good

It was okay.
My trip was fine on the whole. I stay in accommodation away from home often and as I write this on 25th January this rating was my ninth night away from home since 2.1.24. I was disappointed to realise that breakfast was from 10.30am as I had to work the next day and had an earlier start. I was offered a packet of biscuits and a quakers porridge pot but unfortunately I cannot abide porridge. They did offer to make me some pain au chocolat that evening but I declined. So my experience of a ‘cold breakfast from 7am’ was not realised unfortunately; a slight inconvenience as I tend to have a backup plan. The room itself was nicely appointed. It did have a coffee machine in the room, however there were no coffee pods provided. When I arrived I did use the kettle to make a brew (from my own supplies) but found the kettle had water in - I know someone possibly vacated that room that morning, however I prefer not to be reminded of that fact if I can avoid it. There was also toilet paper in the toilet - again, not a massive deal but it might be nice if it were flushed ahead of a new arrival. There were toilettries in the room, 2 lots of body milk and 2 lots of conditioner. I’m used to staying away from home so I don’t tend to be reliant on these things. There was kitchen roll ‘hung’ on the inside of the glazed panel in the door which I suppose served a purpose… The bed was mega comfy, the room was warm enough (and controllable), the TV was great and the food in the bar was superb. 👌

Stopover
Disappointed really we stayed at the Old Talbot as a stopover for a flight from Luton airport, when we arrived the heating wasn’t working in the Pub,We ordered food 2 burgers, mine was good to be fair but my wife was disappointed, on the menu it stated veggie patty burger, but when it came it was just the cheap blended veggie fritter you get in fish and chip shops. After or food the relief Manager who was very nice gave us a drink on the house as an apology for the heating, but he then informed us that breakfast wasn’t until 10:30 which was no good for us as we had to leave at 10 for the airport, which meant we had to buy food at the airport. He did give us a breakfast bag with cereal but it wasn’t the English breakfast we expected, on leaving we noticed a sign out side stating breakfast served from 8:30? As I said the relief manager was very nice, the room was lovely, but overall a dissatisfied

Great Place, Great Staff.
All fresh new rooms and spotlessly clean. Staff were super friendly & helpful. Breakfast it just a small affair but the world famous (if you're a motorbike nut) Super Sausage Cafe, is only 1/2 a mile up the road and is superb. The food in the hotel is otherwise excellent.

Lovely little place to stay, a plug socket with a usb outlet would have been a welcome addition but doesnt detract from a lovely room. The young waitress serving that evening was excellent, polite, friendly and point. Breakfast at 10am doesn't work for business trips but it wouldnt prevent me from staying again.
