The hotel manager and desk staff were amazing. This hotel is one of the most interesting, with a beautiful interior design. The common areas and hotel rooms were beyond functional and exquisite in their minimalist interior design. The hotel is in a totally renovated 15th century building in the heart of the old town with cobbled stone pedestrian walkways and next to river. This is really a gem in an amazing Austrian town called Hallein and very close to the Eagles Nest and Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany. They also have apartments that you a rent long term for weeks or even months. I highly recommend this property.

Remember to greet everyone you meet; you are in Europe so bring your own washcloth if you need one at home! Bus 160 gets you to and from Salzburg and guest mobility card pays for your ride! Have fun!

We as a family of 4 were perfectly satisfied and enjoyed our stay. Perfect location away from the madness of Salzburg proper. Check in was a breeze. Check out was a breeze. Just follow the instructions. The only issue was parking. No real info so I figured it out myself. Around the corner is a garage. €10 per day, but if you to the garage office you can get a discount for multiple days. We would definitely stay here again

Delightful property that has been fitted and finished with care and consideration. A gorgeous “hotel”! Bed was large and comfortable, bathroom was spacious and well organized. Would stay again without hesitation. Note: Don’t be like us and get distracted by the salt residences — there was confusion on our part when we unloaded our bags from the car at the wrong address down the street.

A great option for Salzburg area if you have a car and you want to be further from the city. The property itself was fine, but I had some comms issues with the host and I wasn’t aware that I had to wait until check in time to get the code to get my key. This place is mostly reception-less. You need to msg them on WhatsApp for everything. The rooms were clean and nice but VERY spare. Like no shampoo, no body wash and only one big and small towel per person. The (singular) pillow was thin and I had a hard time getting comfy to sleep. I still believe it was good value for what I got. Would recommend.

The Salt is an amazing property, so clean, wuiet and peaceful. The comfortable double room we had was superb with plenty of space and a great walk in shower. Downstairs in the note communal area there was an attached cafe and a fabulous lounge area with coffee machine and kettle. Outside, Hallein is a fabulous old town with a great selection of dining options. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Gorgeous property, spacious rooms, extremely comfy beds! We loved the location, but know if you arrive on a Sunday, nothing is open except gelato and pizza, but parking is free on Sundays, so that is nice. Great bonus we werent aware of when booking is Tennengau card with discounts to attractions and free use of public transport. Perfect for our family of 4!!
