Perfect stay

We loved this place , there was minor issues that can easily get fixed, like putting a lock on the pods that way the traveler can comfortably leave things there without having to worry about things getting stolen, also if you oversized person restroom is not big enough , installing small fans inside pods would help massively because the air coming from mirror is not enough , other than that restaurants across the river temple bar is 8min walk

Pods were perfect! Fit 2 people. Bathrooms were clean, even soap was available! Just ask for extra towel if needed! Recommend for small traveling and a few days! Definitely would stay again. Staff is nice and accommodating. Location was awesome very close to Temple Bar!

2 nights in a Pod!

We had a great 2 day stay, was meet on arrival. Obviously this is a place to sleep only so we paid a deposit for lockers to keep our kit safe. Problem, no receptionist on a Sunday and cleaner could only refund for one locker. Contacted hostel on the Monday through WA and problem solved, bank transfer. Thankyou for that!! Pods were clean, bathroom clean! Only negative was the USB points in the Pods didn't work and they were extremely warm, door had to remain open. Overall a positive experience!
Clean and comfortable

Check in needs improving

The hostel was as expected and for what we paid it was good. It was clean, fresh bedding and towels provided and in the pods felt quite spacious and safe. The location was also good. The thing that let this down was the no communication prior to check in advising how to check in. We tried to make contact with the hostel and the phone number did not exist leaving us worrying that we were having to find somewhere else to stay and the cheapest available accommodation in Dublin was over £500. After lots of Google searches we found a number you could WhatsApp and luckily we got our details to check in and access the building. I would say this is something that needs improving. Also the phone charging points in the pods didn’t work and there are not many power outlets. Overall, you get what you pay for and wasn’t a bad experience

For one night it was ok, but not more. The pods were too hot during the night. They should put a better AC into them.

We thought the pod idea might be fun but with parking way too far away we didnt stay. Wasted our money.

The staff at Astra Hostel were kind and helpful. The location of the hostel is ideal/close to the city center. It was very convenient to be able to leave our stuff before check-in. The staff arrived only at 10am for checking out - not a problem for us, but for anyone with an early flight, be sure to mention this to the staff. The pods did not lock, nor was there anywhere in the pods to lock personal belongings. Moreover, the bathrooms are wet on the ground and were only cleaned once during our 3 day stay.

Lovely stay, fun little space pods. But no games / towels provided so bring your own! Over all very comfortable and easy stay. They let us go in earlier than check in as we had an early flight, that was v good.

Phone chargers in the pods don't work. Only toilet is on the ground floor. No lockers. Pretty poor to be honest.

Not safe, no locks to your dorm, No place to hand clothes, no chair to sit, Not like a hostel

Nice stay

Cozy stay in a “space capsule”. No towels even though it said in the description when booking. Nice central to everything

6/10 Good

The individual pods were ok - clean etc. But our pod was on the second floor and the shared bathrooms were on the ground which wasn’t very convenient. And appreciate this isn’t necessarily down to the hostel, but the people we shared a room with woke us up multiple times when drunk and returning and talking and laughing. We didn’t sleep on the second night.

The hostel doesn't have a reception nor staff, you get a code to a capsule in a room with 8 capsules. People in the room were occupying all the capsules In the room on arrival ignoring if it was theirs or not. You can't manage a hostel like that.

As a hostel, you get what you pay for. The sleeping pods are a unique experience and quite comfortable, but they can be noisy when you move. The property should consider adding lockers for guests to store their belongings, even if there's a small fee, as it's better than leaving luggage in unsecured pods or on the floor. The communal room would benefit from a sink for washing dirty dishes instead of having to go to the toilets. We had to do this twice because dirty cups were left out by other guests. Our main issue was the noise from other guests coming back at night, which woke us up at 1:30 AM due to loud talking and banging.

Good Hostel, Didn't cost that money.

Booked a double bed for £75 per night, unfortunately it didn't cost that money. Just a Hostel without any supervisor. The most disappointing thing is that doors in the capsules are impossible to lock, and there's no charging socket inside it, so I had to charge my phone from the socket in the corridor. Overall its definitely 3/5, clean, not over settled, good placement, but with some issues.

Not very welcoming, just a place to sleep.

The pods are OK, and the location near Smithfield not that bad, but altogether the place was rather desolate, I only met the manager? by chance (and few other residents, well, winter, and a weekend...). Only three bathrooms/toilets, can be a real problem in high season, especially if they are situated three flights of stairs down... Above all, the whole place was absolutely FRIGID in december, and light in the staircase missing.

This hostel has as many toilets as my 3 bed house. Much of the construction is poor - front door hits a metal box loudly as you go in, bathroom layouts mean if you're slightly above average height or weight you might struggle to actually use the toilet. Charging in our pod worked for the first night but not for the second, which messed us up for the day after. Safety deposits do not work, key for lockers were not offered/I could find no instructions to access them, so you cannot put your clothes anywhere but your pod. Having to sleep in the pod with our wet clothes on the bed from the rain was a pain. If you are 6ft+ you will probably struggle to extend fully in the pod. The advantages were location wise it was good, cheaper than most others in the area. It's only about a 10-15 minute walk to the temple bar area/O'Connell street etc. But you will have to walk past a fair few crackheads on the way, they were harmless during our visit but I can imagine they could cause trouble. The owners should take a couple of pods out from each room and put a bathroom there for each floor, it would be much improved, I very much doubt they would do that though

2/10 Poor

Terrible accommodation. When we arrived we were very disappointed to find out there was no signage on the building or any indication of where it is. When we got to the room we were extremely disappointed with the lack of security, there’s no lockers in the rooms and the doors in the pods don’t lock. There’s no staff on property so no sense of security of who’s coming and going. We ended up booking a hotel due to how unsafe this accommodation felt. Definitely would not recommend staying here

good hotel for a few nights stay

We were looking for a hotel to stay for one night and walk around the city. We just needed a place to sleep. This is a great place for that. It's like a hostel but you have a separate capsule in room. It fits two people. You can sleep closed well inside and no one bothers you. They just opened business. Everything is new and clean. They new in business and have some issues with service but have good communication, trying help, and they are trying to make the service better. This good for one or couple who travel with limited budget. I Recommend.
