The hotel is conveniently located at the end of the main shopping street in Karuizawa, and it’s relatively new, the room size is huge in comparison to most of the older hotels in the city. The in-house restaurant is also a great place for Italian food in town.
However, you will be greatly disappointed if you are looking to gain experience with its amenities. There is basically no amenities other than a public bath. The price tag is extremely high considering there is almost no amenities to offer except for a room to stay, and they even mandatory charge ¥10,000 for a kid between 3 to 12 per night. Moreover, they also charge ¥1500 for child below 3 years old for breakfast. For the same price, one can get much better choice such as Nikko Ritz Carlton or Nikko Fufu.
There are a few good things about the hotel, for example, more than half of the staff can speak fluent English, some of them can even speak perfect English or Mandarin. Secondly, most of the staff is friendly and willing to help. Thirdly, dinner was exceptional!
