Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of food and drinks. I enjoyed the property because it is unique. In its glory days this was a fine place. Today it is still good but needs a few updates. It’s worth the price and the location near the train station is very helpful.

Very pretty hotel, incredibly nice and accommodating staff. The location was great. My friends and I were able to comfortably walk around most of Lecce and make it home without a problem.

Very well situated hotel with private parking and an outdoor pool. Rooms were comfortable with all mod cons including safe and kettle. The grandeur is somewhat faded - it could do with some refurbishment particularly in the common areas, but still a pleasant place to stay./

The decor is part shabby, part magnificent. Absolutely fine for our purposes, and the room was ideal, but it would be great to see the hotel restored to its former grandeur.

Great location by the train station within walking distance of all amenities. Staff very helpful. Hotel is a little 'tired' but still clean and comfortable. Nice outdoor dining area for breakfast. Pool is lovely and quiet and a great area to relax in the sun.

Location was far from centre. The Grand Hotel was not grand. Elevator out order the entire stay, no towels, carpet dirty throughout hotel, furniture stained,; the hotel may have been wonderful at one time but needs an update. Only thing the was grand was the pool.

Lovely hotel in need of a bit of love such as replacing the tired carpets. Pool nice area to relax in but not necessarily catch the sun as the tall buildings cast a shadow, which many are actually grateful for. Replacing the halogen bulbs in the bathroom would be good . Breakfast buffet ok. Coffee wise I’ve had in Italy. Surrounding area at present a bit of a construction site as it is being updated towards the station. Should look great when finished.

Nice clean room. Would have liked more coat hangers as lovely big wardrobe but only three hangers.

Bar didn't appear to be open an no menu available. Carpets were stained and threadbare. Pool area very over grown and not enough sunbeds to use. Pool was very rarely in the sun so not ready usable. This is by no means a 4 star hotel so very over priced for what was available. Area outside was not the nicest until you got to the main road and then the old town.

Checking with Hotel.com, the hotel was supposed to have an onsite parking. Upon arrival we were told all parking spots were taken, so we had to find a parking spot on the street. The hotel itself was very dated with dirty carpets. The shower door was missing and fridge was not working. There was a big step right by entrance, my hunand tripped over carrying the luggages and hurt his leg. The room had a very strong odor, smelling like Lysol. The bedding had a different strong perfumed smell which was not pleasant. On the plus side, the room was large with a large bathoom and closet and breakfast was really great.

Very old and the shower head was disgusting and spraying everywhere but down! I made them replace it!
Room smelt of damp and black mould around the shower/bath!

The unique selling point of this property is its closeness to the central train station. Links to most of the towns between Lecce and Bari and beyond are easy and fairly quick. In its former glory, as the railway hotel, this would have been the go-to accommodation for many Travellers and an overnight stay a normal thing to do. The opulence of the Grand Hotel at Lecce would have wowed the guests and there would have been a constant topping and doing of waiters and staff. There would have been a proper restaurant and kitchen serving up nice meals with local produce and the guests would have gone to bed without ever having to leave the hotel. Maybe this situation prevailed even beyond 2016 when the hotel was still listed in the Michelin Red Guide. Now, however, after the ravages of COVID and the various lockdowns that followed, the kitchen only operates for breakfast and the restaurant is a mere memory. Who knows? Maybe the restaurant will come back. It would make a lot of sense in this grand edifice.
