The Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Centre offers fascinating exhibits for those preferring dry land. Nearby Kenai Fjords National Park showcases glaciers that calve with thunderous splashes, creating nature's most dramatic performance art.

Glacier View Cabins
"The cabin is somewhat small but is very clean with an excellent view across the inlet. The host is fantastic and very friendly. The bed is comfortable and the pillow are just perfect for good sleeping. I think I should have gotten a non-duplex cabin as the neighbor was a bit noisy as they said goodbye to some visitor just after 11:00 PM. The wifi worked well and I would definitely want to rent here again should I ever return to Homer. I did not use the grill but the microwave worked just fine."
The Moosetide Hotel
"This is an amazing hotel! First time in Homer and we felt like at home : ) It has great location, Angie and Shayane are very kind and welcoming, and the hotel interior is amazing with a lot of cute design and decoration that we can easily tell how much love and care they've spent on creating this space!"
Best Western Bidarka Inn
"Many parking spaces and decent breakfast."
Land's End Resort
"The room was clean and the room was right on the bay where you could sit at the window and look at the bay. The best part was leaving the window partially open and listen to the waves crash on shore while we were laying in bed!"
The Ocean Shores
"The beach is amazing as is the view. We were in the first set of rooms right on the beach. It was so nice to leave the window open and listen to the sound of the waves as we fell asleep. It is an older motel, but very well maintained and the beds were very comfortable. I live in Alaska and occasionally go to Homer. I will definitely book with them next time I am in town."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Homer
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Homer is during January, November, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a budget-friendly trip that allows you to immerse yourself in the local history and culture, staying for at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration is perfect for discovering the town's iconic landmarks, enjoying its stunning scenery, and experiencing outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. With the opportunity to explore museums and savour fresh seafood, this trip offers great value for money while taking in beautiful sunsets over the sea.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals on accommodation in Homer, check the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. You could also enable email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and exclusive promotions, helping you snag the best hotel deal. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you'll be among the first to know and can secure cheap accommodation for your getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a Homer hotel. If you're after unique experiences, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we can suggest more economical dates to help you find the best deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but thanks to Homer's fantastic public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there’s often great value for money to be found.
