Super clean and cozy
It was super clean and comfortable. I think it was remodeled not too long ago. We have place to go when we visit Sokcho or Sulak mountain. I will recommend my friends to go to Hotel Amaranth.

Spacious carpark with adequate parking. Hotel looks rather old but it feels clean enough. Location along a main road can be a little noisy if sleeping with windows open, however short drive to either Seoraksan or to Sokcho town.
Main thing we didn’t like about the room is the shower area. The shower area has no shower curtain, so the entire bathroom is wet after our bath. Small towels and shampoo, bath soap, toothbrushes provided.
Overall, satisfied with the two nights stay. We like the location. Bed was comfortable.

It was a cheap taxi to the nearby national park. It was not close to many stores and the restaurant didn't offer too much. I think if we had a car it would have been a much better location for us as it was a bit out of town and had beautiful views. The staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Two nights near Sorak-san National Park
I was not sure about the hotel (quality etc.) before arriving but it was really nice to stay two nights for a very reasonable price. Service people were also very friendly. The mattress could be a little bit hard for many but was actually good for me. The Sorak-san National Park is nearby and Sokcho city is also not far assuming you have a car or use a taxi. Otherwise the location is a little bit off from amenities.

Nice slightly out of town hotel - great breakfast
A little tired, but still totally acceptable and just out of town close to the park. The western breakfast was reasonable and excellent. Service just fine.

Quiet hotel at a good price
Location:
Direct route wise, its only 15 minutes ride away from Mount Seorak and 7 mins ride away from Sokcho city centre. However, there is no direct bus to Mount Seorak. You will have to take bus number 3 or 3-1 to Sokcho city centre area and transfer to bus 7 or 7-1. This will take slightly more than an hour (including all the waiting time - bus 7 and 7-1 is frequent but 3 and 3-1 comes every 30 mins) and cost 2400 won 1 way. If you a in a group of 3 or more, it will be worth to take a taxi directly from Amaranth to Mount Seorak (ard 7000-8000 won). The hotel will provide you details on the bus 3 and 3-1 timings. There is not too much place to eat near Amaranth. The hotel has a restaurant, there is another oppersite the hotel. There is 1 shop that sell quite good fish soup 300m down in the direction away from Sokcho. There are convenience store 500m down in the direction towards Sokcho.
The hotel room is a bit old but they tried to provide all the necessary facilities. It is comfortable, clean, relatively big even for 2 people and value for money. The staff are polite and helpful.
If you are fine with the longer travel to Seorak (or to take cab) and like to quiet place to rest, this hotel is suitable for you.

The hotel was pretty average. It had a restaurant, but I saw no evidence that anyone actually ate there. The hotel had its own mini-mart which was useful because the hotel is pretty isolated. It's only a few minutes driving from downtown Sokcho, but the distance isn't really walkable. The hotel is right on a busline that runs every 40 minutes or so from Sokcho to Seoroksan National Park. Thus, it is definitely doable to stay here as a backpacker/bus traveler but I would recommend only staying if you have a car.

A Great Hotel
Great location! We stayed a total of four nights and could not of asked for better hotel. The room was large for a double, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and the service and food in their dinning room was superb. Very close to Food Town and Mount Soraksan. The hotel has a large parking lot and when entering the lobby, you feel like a welcomed guest. I would surely stay here again and thank you for making our visit in Sokcho so memorable.

Good heating system
The check-in was smooth and the reservation officer is friendly. Good heating system in the room gives us comfort for one night stay in the room. The bed was a bit hard but manageable. Wi-fi connection is good and fast. Hotel looks grand from the outside and it is grand all the way to the room. It has a big room and a big bathroom. Location of the hotel is just 20 minutes away from the bus terminal by taxi. Need to get to the main city centre in order to take the bus to Mount Soreak.
