The location is great! Very family friendly. Very helpful staff. Comfortable rooms for the price. We will most likely stay there again.

This place is in a great location for walking to many restaurants, bars and the beach. If you are going to San Diego to hang out in a hotel / motel room, this is not your place. You cannot beat the price and location.

The facility is pretty old but it definitely delivers what it promises. The position is very good, it’s close to everything you need.

As soon as we parked, housekeeping occidentally dropped a load of towels and bedsheets onto our car. It’s a motel - so, it did the job. However, it was quite dusty and outdated. Definitely could use some TLC. The beds were clean and it was vacuumed. We were only there to sleep so we did not mind. Will only come back in a pinch.

There were only two good things about this property: An employee named AK and the close proximity to where we needed to ve. Now let's break down what they MUST improve on: - pool area was not really useable. The chairs were dirty and there was a random microwave sitting on the floor of the pool deck. - the furniture in the room is outdated and in poor condition. - room smelled weird. Can't even explain the smell. Just weird. - bathroom in disrepair. The "bars" of soap were the size of poker chips. The towels were child-sized. - the smoke detector was off the wall mount and sitting in the corner of the room behind the bed. - the curtains were not that pretty teal color. They're a darker blue and covered in dust at the top. - comforters weren't even on the beds. They were folded on the foot of the bed. - staff was LOUD. It's morning and they're talking at the top of their lungs. No sleeping in! - there are NO phones inside the rooms. If you need the front desk you'll have to google the number. - I called the hotel and asked for 30 minutes so I could finish gathering my things to leave. They wanted to charge me $40 for 30 minutes. - bed frames are built weird & pieces stick out. I have 2 gnarly bruises on my legs from bumping into them. - dirty walls. Closets weird. They charge a LOT for what you get. They need to fix the rooms & the grounds to make them presentable, practical, & clean. Invest in the improvements & you'll get better reviews & repeat customers.

location location- about 1 block from the Beach! For the price will be coming back again. Its a motel- no frills- good bed to sleep in, hot water for shower. Its right on the street so noisy- felt safe :)- i was surprised for the $10 daily parking as well for the $3 daily beach clean up fee.... I feel that should have been noted at booking or just add that in the charges up front.

This entire room is out dated and is badly in need of an upgrade. No air conditioner, just a fan. The door locks did not work properly while closing and opening the door. There was only 2 electrical outlets in the room. None in the bathroom. The disinfectant and bleach that they used to clean the room was so strong, I had to leave the door open to get some air. This room has not been painted in over 10 years. There were no amenities! No microwave or mini refrigerator. The online app is misleading. Extremely disappointed in the room. The staff were vert pleasant & accommodating.

Summer time no air conditioning almost 90 degrees. The hood very loud & smell very bad. The picture look very good but when we there not look like. It very terrible. How we can sleep. We have to find another place to Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego with expedia because your worker could not guarantee we can get money back.

This place is awful and nothing like the photos. It is noisy, does not have any amenities like basic things like a fridge, hairdryer etc. Toilet overflowed, shower barely worked, no wifi, asked for an extra towel and got a bath mat. It is so noisy that you can’t keep a window open but no air conditioning.

Old rooms in need of an update, which is usually not an issue, however, there is no wi-fi available on the property. There are no hairdryers in the room or on the property. Room #225 had a small kitchenette, which is awesome, but the hot water from the sink next to the electric stove top in room leaked into the stove (!). Comforter had black stain. Staff was apologetic for the lack of what are pretty typical amenities even for a budget motel.

No AC. No House keeping done even 2 days. Additional fees no on website. The 2 towels were hand towels. The soap and shampoo were dry. Parking Additional fees. 45 minutes to check in, system down 4 times during check in. I am so disappointed in Expedia and this Motel. Below average in all departments of this stay.

I’m still waiting for a refund from this property. I had this room booked for three days. When me and my spouse showed up the room was filthy with drywall all over the floor with dirt drywall and dirt in the bed, the room had been used and not cleaned, and I was forced to stay in there because they were completely booked. The room was so filthy. I slept in the sleeping bag. I then left the following day and was told I would get a refund and I have received no contact from the property management of the hotel.

Clean linens. Nice desk staff. Great price for location. Queen beds were rock hard, but the twin was nice and soft. BUT…no a/c in the whole place. Luckily it was in the 70s with a decent breeze. They DO give everyone fans for their room. Someone 2 rooms down actually had their door open with the fan in the doorway because the front window didn’t open. No phone in the room to call the Front Desk. NO PARKING even though you have to pay $10/night for it. They finally offered me a space in the back in front of the dumpster but said I had to move by 9am in case the trash man came. I honestly didn’t feel comfortable leaving my car back there in the dark, so I created a spot and hung up my handicap pass.

we stayed three nights and at first were given a room with a queen bed instead of a king bed. We reported that to the staff, but they couldn’t change us to a king until the next day. Everything at this location needs to be remodeled so heads up, they’re working on it little by little nevertheless the traffic and people going out in that area make it a very loud place and not much sleep at night. The location is great walking distance to everything beach shops restaurants. They have a long way to go before they can bring this place back up to decent. Unfortunately, there’s nothing they can do about the traffic and the people that like to yell at night when they get out of the bars or restaurants. The staff was very polite and professional, but we will not stay there again.

Room was not cleaned and used smoothy glasses lying on the foor, bed was okay.. but no ventilation and air to move and provided fans doesn’t cool down… very difficult to sleep and they charge extra for parking and beach fee even though we didn’t go to beach and no clue why these unnecessary charges are… simply making money via hidden charges

Too many surprise charges. Extra $3 for "beach" cleanup. Extra $10/day for parking. $100 deposit. Would not provide documentation for the deposit.

The place was nothing like what was pictured. My wife was thinking the pictures on hotels.com were from a different hotel. It smelled of pine sol when we looked at the room, lamp switches were broken or did not work; there was no air conditioning. It was pretty bad. No hotels.com executive or employee would ever stay there. I wouldn’t take my wife there and so I didn’t. Do they even actually go to these places to vet them? I actually want my money back. We were able to find another place to stay that night (10:00pm) in Carlsbad (30 minutes away) and actually stayed the weekend in Carlsbad. I have the receipt to prove it. So, not only was the place bad, but I spent a lot more money than I should have (on a second hotel) and there was also the major inconvenience of sitting there calling around to find a place to stay, again, 10:00 at night. I feel I was pretty much overcharged for what this place was. I saw nicer looking hotels for less.
