Quiet in Jan - amazing food
Amazing location - on top of the rock with great sunrise and sun set photo opportunities. Very Quiet in Jan /Feb - perhaps too quiet. Staff delightful. Dinner is sensational - the cooking of the fresh ingredients is perfect.

Spectacular location, up next to old castl. Our window looked out on castle at sunrise. Staff was helpful; loaned us a cellphone recharger cable for one we had lost and told us where to buy another. Hotel seemed strangely empty in afternoon and evening, but in the morning at check-in checkout there were plenty of people. To get to hotel, take GPS option that avoids mid-town. Both of our GPS options got lost trying to take routes that went by Plaza España.

Castle Hotel
Parador Hotel is adjacent to the castle and as such is very convenient for a visit there. The hotel is of a high standard in both condition and cleanliness. Although we didn’t have time to use them the hotel has both a spa and pool which look great. Note the hotel is not a short walk from the town and the location is steep.

Was expecting the wow factor from this parador, didn’t get it I’m afraid. Dramatic enough location but interior pretty soulless. Need to up their game with food and drink. They know there’s nowhere else to go and they act accordingly. Need a courtesy bus down into the town.

Modern hotel (2012 opened?) on top of the hill in the grounds of Lorca Castle. Parking on site at the top of the twisty steep road. Castle well worth a visit (it’s next door). The hotels restaurant has stunning views.

A treat at the end of a long climb
This hotel is a real treat, in an amazing location in the grounds of Lorca Castle. Access is gained via a steep, twisty road that rewards you with stunning views across the Murcian countryside. It is a fair distance to the pleasant town centre so it seemed that most of the guests ate in the restaurant where the food was delicious and served by friendly, professional staff. A visit to the castle is a must, just make sure you pack very sensible footwear as there is a lot of climbing to do.

SPA access is NOT included except pool and cost is 35 euro per person. There is no bar service in pool/spa and you are not allowed to bring drinks as they don’t have plastic glasses. Restaurant has good service and food but opens late 20:30, no walking distance to anything else.

The position is interesting high above the town but it should be made clear in the description that it impossible to walk there. Unusual building. Fantastic views. No information available except with a QR code. Disappointed that when a steak was fatty the waiter shrugged and only removed it from the bill when we requested him to.
