We went to Cappadocia for the long Bayram weekend. The Rox Cappadocia was recommended by friends, so we booked there for two nights. The price was considerably higher than similar looking places, so we expected something special. We were disappointed. Let me say the staff were very nice and helpful, we liked them very much and the breakfast was very good.
The room was typical of cave hotels in the area, nothing special. We have been to Cappadocia before and knew what average was. The room was poorly ventilated. We could have used a fan and it was hot. The swamp cooler didn't cool, plus it had blinking lights that challenged sleep. The bedroom closet light switch was poorly installed, so I would have to fix it so the light would stay off at night. There were two small LED-like lights over the bed that couldn't be turned off. Conversely, the room was also poorly lit. We were told that was for a romantic feel. Having at least one bright light would have been nice. The room needed at least one mirror with light for my wife to make sure she looked right. Oh, there was one hanger in the closet when we arrived. The staff did their best to find more. In addition, for the price, one would have expected bathrobes and at least one shower cap.
The lounge deck was a nice place and Rox wanted a cool atmosphere, but to succeed, they need to coordinate the music with the hotel that abuts the Rox. Battling music motifs spoiled the outdoor atmosphere.
Good wi-fi.
