We had an all inclusive package which included food and drinks. The beach was beautiful. There were vendors on the beach that may be a pest but overall it was enjoyable.

Food was excellent! Staff goes above and beyond. Beautiful resort that is located on the beach. About 4-5 pools, jacuzzi, & slide. The Marina is 5 minutes or less driving. We took a cab for $12. Wouldn’t recommend walking the 15-20 minutes as the temperature is hot. Weather was perfect in the high 80’s. Would not want to be here when temperatures are above 90. There’s a mini market, Starbucks, & boutique in resort. There’s a free trolley that takes you to the other 2 neighbor hotels. We had the all inclusive and would definitely come back!

Villa del Palmar was a beautiful and relaxing get away for our family. We were all-inclusive guests and were always treated attentively and kindly, even the kids! There were many food options. The breakfast buffet offers an omelette bar and a waffle/ pancake/ French toast bars. Lunch by the pool was great for the kids who were looking for a cheeseburger, but the real start of the show was the taco bar which also offers sushi! Dinner boasts many options— Carbon, where a personal wood fire grill is brought to the table; Bella California, an Italian experience with an assortment of pastas, mains, and pizzas; Tomatillos, a local farm-to-table experience (requires reservations). But our kids loved the buffet with the nightly show. Each night is themed, and the shows were fun and well-choreographed. The resort’s entertainment team kept the day moving at the pool with daily stretching, crafts, blackjack, water aerobics, water volleyball, and bingo. We did not use the kids’ center (4-12 year olds only) as one of our children was not old enough, but I assume, like everything else at VDP, the kids would have loved their programs! The staff takes great care in tending to the resort. From groundskeepers, to servers, to cleaning staff, everything sparkles! There are improvements being made to the property. The crews work long days and the progress in one week was astounding. Can’t wait to see the outcome!

I would have enjoyed at least one indoor dinning area. Lots of birds flying around taking any food lying about. Also I had to call maintenance twice about a leak in the ensuite bath. The food was excellent with lots of variety. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back.

The good… Clean rooms and clean property and friendly/helpful staff The bad… - had to change rooms due to construction noise - lots of area of the property are under construction in the “off season” (when kids are in school - did not know that when I booked in July - the food is terrible… except for the breakfast and taco bar - those are excellent - they water down the alcoholic drinks making you have to order a whole lot more than normal - no one kicks kids out of the jacuzzi area even though the sign says it’s for 16 and older - they have shows every night and so if you don’t want to listen to that and relax…. Request a room on the side of the hotel and not in the main middle section

The food and the service was great. Unfortunately there was a lot of construction and the whole front of the facility was closed down, along with one of the sports bar. Also we were on the first floor and the noise in the morning (5am) was really loud from the staff cleaning and preparing for the breakfast.

Property is under construction. The hotel makes very little accommodations to failed with children when it comes to the noise, and absolutely no compensations for having to be moved due to faulty equipment (AC, leaking toilet) when you are forced to move rooms to them needing to do repairs. The hospitality staff does not take care of their guests when they cause undue stress to their vacationers. The rest of the staff was very friendly, lacking in the options of restaurants and food.

6/10 Good

We just got back from a week long family birthday trip (renting a total of 4 rooms) My daughter who was traveling with 4 small children was moved once because of a leaky AC, which caused all the bedding to be wet, when they requested to move in the morning they were told they had no rooms available and would have to wait to be moved until 4 pm causing an entire day of displaced kids and for fitting almost an entire day to having to move rooms, they then were moved to a room with a leaky toilet and major construction (drilling) making it impossible for the kids to nap. They were never upgraded or compensated for the inconvenience in any way. Unfortunately we won’t be able to return to this property due to lack of the hospitality during our stay. The rest of the staff was very friendly, and a big shout out to both Sergio and Pedeo for making the birthday celebrations special for three birthdays in our party.

First off, I'd like to say that we went during the slow season. The resort was very nice, clean, and relaxing. If you don't speak Spanish, this resort has plenty of people who can speak English. The staff are very nice and friendly. The all inclusive package is worth it, if you plan on staying and eating at the resort. If you plan to go out, it becomes less worth it, and I wish there were other inclusive options as in dinner drinks (for staying at the resort only), drinks only (for going out on the town and getting food but hanging by the pool with drinks), room only. The free wifi is really only useful for texting and emails. If you want to have a night in and watch Netflix, I highly recommend you upgrade the wifi package (useful if you end up getting sunburned like we did).

We stayed here with family and 2 babies and found the resort excellent for staying with babies. The little kids pool was super great for our baby to walk and splash around in while the main family pool was colder and great for floating in. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and there was TONS of room in it - highly recommend booking that room if you cab. The food choices were great, you didn't always need to do a buffet meal which was a nice change. Everything except the sports bar was open while we were there.

The staff are very friendly and treat you like kings here. The food is actually surprisingly good ! sushi, tacos, quesadillas, ribey, desert, chips and guacamole were all sooo good !! The only thing that makes this experience not excellent is that we payed $500 for an Ocean view but got a pool view instead.. No ocean view at all. Love the staff all very kind. Our mini fridge was restocked daily which is very nice. Love how you don’t have to leave the resort the gym, spa, little grocery store, restaurants all in the resort!
