Excellent Hideaway
Your own secluded island with great service great food and great pool. With a one bed room right on the beach this was the perfect getaway. Very laid back but with excellent service from the young team. Lovely pool and restaurant area in balinese style.

6/10 Good

The property itself was nice. The villa we stayed in (beachfront villa) was great but in the mornings we were woken by alot of noise from machinery unloading supplies etc. The food was terrible! We ended up only eating one meal a day as we couldnt stomach it anymore. We ordered the secluded picnic...it was not at all secluded, the staff members when finishing their shift were sitting with us and people were walking all around stopping to chat. This was not romantic. The following day the staff members not working were taking up all the chairs on the beach, were using all facilities and in the pool etc. They acted as though we were an inconvenience being there. Very unprofessional and quite unpleasant as this island has so much potential.

Such a special place living amongst nature. We saw whales, turtles out at front, curlews, humming birds and cockatoos in the gardens. So secluded you dont see more than 15 people anywhere. Quality of food is excellent and similarly priced compared to mainland.

We were so pleased that we chose Palm Bay for our recent Whitsunday Island Stay. Firstly the price was reasonable and comparable to accommodation prices on the mainland. Then it was very conveniently located, being a short boat ride from Shute Harbour. All our favourite activities were available including fishing, snorkeling, kayaking and hammocking! The small fridge and toaster in our bungalow meant we could prepare some snacks of our own as well as enjoy restaurant meals and poolside snacks. Overall, I would highly recommend Palm Island Resort, just don't tell too many people!

2/10 Poor

Disappointing Experience at Palm Bay Resort if I could put half a star I would! I recently stayed at Palm Bay Resort on Long Island, Whitsundays, and unfortunately, my experience was subpar. The staff was consistently rude and disrespectful, which set a negative tone for our entire stay. The food at the resort was extremely overpriced and took an inordinate amount of time to arrive, often exceeding an hour. When it did, we were underwhelmed by the quality. The service was poor, and our room was neglected by housekeeping, with no cleaning or attention to detail during our stay. To make matters worse, we encountered bed bugs in our room, which was unacceptable. We also experienced issues with our airport transfers, which were cancelled despite being prepaid. The resort withheld our money for 7 days, further adding to our frustration. Our room had unexplained splatters on the bedroom wall that resembled blood, which was disturbing and never addressed. The resort's tour information was misleading, leading to further disappointment. Perhaps most concerning was the staff's unapologetic attitude towards our complaints. Overall, our stay at Palm Bay Resort was marred by poor service, uncleanliness, and a lack of accountability. Until these issues are addressed, I would caution others against staying here.

8/10 Very good

Little piece of paradise
Such a beautiful, quiet and intimate spot. If you’re after total relaxation this is the place. We found drinks to be very reasonably priced too. Yes, food is on the expensive side but the logistics of getting supplies there makes sense and the portions are very generous (enough to share a breakfast between two). The staff are fantastic and friendly. It is in a humid bush setting, so there are critters and some mildew around but nothing to worry about in the scheme of things. The whole stay was exactly what we were after.

The peace and quiet was fantastic, from the greeting with drinks looking out to a beautiful sunset to the swimming in the pool or sea right there. The resturant was fabulos the chef and staff were top notch.the staff were so friendly helpful and happy to help if there was something we needed to ask regading tours etc . Wotif mislead us with advertising ,whenbwe put in hamilton island ,palm bay resort so we thought it was at Hamilton Island so flew into there but had to get 2 seperate boats out to get to resort. Wotif needs to sort it out . Better to go to prosperine airport then catch 1 boat ride direct to Palm Bay Resort.

It's good property but it's in isolated area and transportation is hard. You have only options to go in or out of the resort 3 times in day, goes to Shute harbour only, 8am-11am-4pm. Alternative option is, Mars Charter private water taxi which is very expensive if you in small group.

It's a vibe - paradise.
Our stay at Palm Bay was exceptional. It is simply magical. As Canadians, we pinched ourselves to see if it was real. VERY private location. Small capacity makes it feel very VIP and exclusive. It's a very private getaway with our own 2 bedroom bungalow on the beach. Palm Bay is absolutely a vibe. I'm so glad we opted to stay there rather than the overrun hotel style resorts on some of the neighbouring islands we visiated that have none of the private paradise feel of Palm Bay. It's notably adults only which makes it quiet as there are a mix of honeymooners, couples, and older families. Being able to snorkel out our front door was awesome. The food and drinks were excellent. We're foodies and Palm Bay did not disappoint. The pool was lovely with lots of seating and shade available, and a greag place to enjoy a few beverages. Our 2 bedroom bungalow was lovely. Our only minor note for the entire stay was that the bathrooms could use a bit of a refresh, but that is small potatoes given everything else that Palm Bay has going for it. I do feel like we stumbled upon a "best kept secret" with this resort. We stayed for 5 days/4 nights, and I wish we had stayed longer. We booked an excursion from through the concierge and it was great. 10/10 recommend

I thought Palm Bay Resort was a beautiful Island. The only dispointment was that the tennis court was closed and not in useable condition but they still advertise it as an attraction. Everything else was perfect.

Ultimate relaxation. If you are looking for off the grid, look no further. The island is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! There is so much wildlife and natural beauty here. The bush walks were great, it allowed you to see the whole island. Every morning we had breakfast with the cockatoo's and watched the wallaby's walk around and eat. If you are looking for a touristy kind of place this is NOT it. This place is so quiet and relaxing you forget there is a world outside of it. They do offer excursions for those who want to have an adventure. I would highly recommend the rafting tour out to White Haven beach.
