Basic
We stayed because of a horse show at the Agriplex. An easy walk to Tim Horton's for coffee (there was no coffee at hotel) and also to Agriplex. We didn't spend a lot of time in hotel other than to sleep, for that it was good enough. Other than doors slamming, it was quiet enough to sleep.

The property is date and the carpet and furniture worn and in need of replacing,

Excellent access to property from main highway. Property is an older facility, and has a lot of potential. The outside and inside needs professional cleaning and needs to be kept up, daily. Some shrubs and flowers would really make the facility welcoming. The internal decor could easily be modernized with stylish paint colours updated wall hangings and new flooring. New stylish bedding and towels is a must!

It was ok for a small town stay. Only issue was there were no staff on premises in the morning when I had an issue. Took an hour to get some on the phone to help me.

Had a mix up with our room when we checked on. They were short staffed and did their best to accommodate.. but the room we ended up with was only 1 bed even though we needed 2 and the room smelled terrible. They did their best but the property is need of updating. Pricey for what you get.

Property seemed really understaffed. Only one man at the front desk who wasn’t there most of the time. Bedrooms were very underwhelming and cold. But it was clean.

Small but clean rooms. No shampoo or conditioner in the shower. Toilet paper so thin it falls apart. No coffee maker in the room or anywhere.

Staff not available for checkin, doors to hotel were locked in mid afternoon. Called hotel, no answer. Finally tracked down cleaning staff who unlocked the door? Unacceptable!

Clean and Functional
Clean, comfortable bed. The desk is not able to be used if you want to watch TV and work. The huge TV is hung on the wall and is very nice, but the narrow desk with basic plastic chair is right underneath the TV. If you are okay with using a laptop on your lap on the bed, it works. Also, there is no coffee in the room or in the lobby, but there is an A & W next door and a Tim Horton's a block away.

2/10 Poor

The security at this hotel is very poor. The desk staff is not available 24/7. It is in need of a renovation. When I could get ahold of staff they were friendly and courteous, however I have come to expect that someone would be available if my key doesn’t work when I return to the hotel after a long day or need to extend my stay on a Sunday morning at 9:00 am.

Just weird. The room itself was normal and clean. The TV wouldn’t work so I went downstairs to ask about it…..because there was no phone! The dude said “oh….you have to use your own subscriptions to Netflix, Crave etc.” Who can remember your own Netflix password. Then he said the Roku tv chant is free but it would never come up. Then I asked if there was a pop machines of water and he pointed to 7/11 4 blocks away. ….but they have an ice machine. Not one single vending machine. Just a weird place to stay. I

Make a different choice :-(
Check-in begins at 3 pm. We tried to check in at that time, so we could drop off our luggage and go hiking locally. The front doors were locked; nobody around. So we do our hike and come back at 5 pm. A young lady says she is "just watching" the front desk for manager, and she doesn't actually know how to process check ins. Tells us to come back in an hour. So we wander around town, and come back. After waiting 20 more minutes, a very surly manager shows up. He checks us in, but tells us room hasn't been cleaned yet. Tells us to come back in an hour. So we cool our heels at the fast-food place next door, and watch as a cleaning lady-with her own vacuum-drives up and leaves after a little while. So at 7:20 pm, we can finally get into our room. Nobody at front desk then; and nobody at front desk in morning; just put key cards in a box. There were no vending machines. What we infer from all this is that they cannot afford maid service except in rooms that will actually be used that night; and that they didn't pay the vendors so the drink/snack machines got pulled. Room was threadbare. Only 2 pillows, both very small and very lumpy. This hotel will probably be out of business soon. I noticed that from the time we made our reservation (7 mo. in advance) to our stay, their reviews have dropped drastically. Sadly, there are few other choices in this town...but din't choose this one!
