The best bars in Singapore are all shining examples of why the country’s ever-popular nightlife scene is booming. With thousands of drinking spots in Singapore to choose from, the task of whittling the list down the list to just 10 entries was no easy task, so we came up with a strict checklist.
When we go for an evening tipple, high up on our criteria is the quality of drinks on offer, be it inventive cocktails, tasty beers, or quality wine. We also had a very unofficial scoring system based on location, views, prices, ambiance, and decor. Find the best bars in Singapore below.

Among the giant shopping malls along Orchard Road is one of the most attractive streets in the city: Emerald Hill, and our favorite bar on this quaint little road is No. 5 Emerald Hill, named after its address. As well as a picturesque outside terrace, the cozy bar area is decked out in warm wooden decor and we love how light floods into the place through the roof.
As well as a quality selection of cocktails, No 5 Emerald Hill has a great martini happy hour and there’s a good range of bottled and tap beers, as well as snacks if you are looking for an evening fill. Read more

The rock and roll era of the 1960s provides inspiration for Republic Bar down in Marina Bay Singapore. This was a decade when Singapore was newly independent and full of excitement and Republic aims to conjure up that feeling in its patrons.
Both the food and drinks menus also take their inspiration from the 60s, offering an expansive selection of options that build on traditional flavors and dishes and bringing them to a modern setting. The food includes both meals and bar snacks, so there’s something for you, no matter your appetite.

Republic Bar
Trendy bar with custom drinks
Good for: Nightlife
Bar Stories, despite its simple interior and limited seating, has become one of Singapore’s most talked about cocktail bars with its inventive and playful range of cocktails. There’s no real drinks menu here, with the talented team of mixologists asking you what kind of flavors you fancy and then providing their own recommendations.
They’ll also happily whip you up any requests that you have, and there’s also a selection of beers, wines, and champagne by the bottle. The second floor space fills up every day after work, with a trendy crowd spilling in from Haji Lane outside, one of the city’s coolest (and narrowest) shopping and nightlife roads.
Location: 57A Haji Lane, Singapore

The elegant feel of a 1920s speakeasy is clear as you walk through the doors of Quaich Bar Wanderlust. Sleek wooden fittings, plush seating and brass detailing all add to the sophisticated ambience. This bar makes a great setting for nights out with friends and business partners.
The Quaich is known for its whisky and the bartenders are knowledgeable on the subject and more than happy to help you choose an option from the menu. Glamorous enough to be classy, but not so grand as to be intimidating, you can spend a wonderful evening here.

Quaich Bar Wanderlust
Live music, cocktail, and the party spirit
Good for: Nightlife
Singaporeans and expats might be a little too quick to dismiss Cuba Libre as just another tourist bar at Clarke Quay, but when it comes to live music and feel-good vibes, this lively bar wins top marks in our book. Yes, you won’t find too many locals here, but that’s all but irrelevant when it’s jumping with their excellent house bands, who play Cuban hits, and some particularly fun Latin-infused covers of pop songs.
Dancing starts later in the evening and don’t miss your chance to try the cocktails and mocktails on offer. Cuba Libre is the place to get the party started.
Location: 3E River Valley Rd 01-03/04 @, Clarke Quay, The Circuit, Singapore 179024
Open: Sunday–Friday from 6 pm to 3 am, Saturday from 6 pm to 4 am
