4 Great Nightlife in Chalong Bay

Nightlife in Chalong Bay is concentrated around its pier and the Chalong Circle. Most bars and pubs have been around for decades, as the area used to be the haunt of yachties dropping anchor for a season or 2 in Phuket.

Chalong Pier, long enough at 800 metres to warrant a shuttle bus service, also has a cluster of restaurants and cafés lining the entrance road. In high season (November to May), most bars in Chalong Bay stay open until 2am, but shut down as early as 10pm for the rest of the year.

1. Chalong Pier Beer Garden

Chalong Pier Beer Garden is one of the largest bars within the Chalong Pier area. There’s a large TV and 2 smaller screens for fans looking to catch the latest sports events during their visit. A pool table stands in the central area of the bar. Drinks include draught Guinness, Tiger, and San Miguel Light. The bar also has a bulletin board displaying local events happening around Chalong Bay and Phuket.

2. Kan Eang @Pier

Good for: Food, Nightlife

Kan Eang @Pier is one of Phuket’s most popular seafood restaurants. While there are 2 branches in the area, the one closest to Chalong Pier has the added advantage of offering views of the Andaman Sea. The food menu includes Thai seafood and western dishes, as well as sushi and tempura. It also has a beach bar that serves signature cocktails and draft beers from 3pm onwards.

3. The Green Man Pub Phuket

Tamarind Bar is an all-day restaurant and bar overlooking Chalong Bay and the pier. Located on the shoreline, you’ll be able to recognise the venue by its bright fairy lights. You can enjoy excellent local and international dishes, such as homemade pizzas, tom yum goong, and pad Thai. Impromptu parties often take place at the bar, usually during high season in Phuket.
